Fitz's strategy: from perjury/ obstruction of justice to conspiracy

Here's where I think Fitz is headed: he plans to bury Rove under a massive, weighty pile of perjury/obstruction of justice charges (Jason Leopold reports Fitz presented evidence to the GJ for 8 incidents where Rove lied during the investigation and/or GJ testimony):

Fitzgerald told the grand jury that Rove lied to investigators and the prosecutor eight out of the nine times he was questioned about the leak and also tried to cover-up his role in disseminating Plame Wilson's CIA status to at least two reporters.

In turn, lets say this translates to several counts of perjury, several of obstruction of justice, several of making false and misleading statements... perhaps to at least 10 counts total. Give or take. Let's just say, if this is so, Rove is looking at potentially spending many, many years in prison (Libby is looking at 30 years for 5 counts)... and he does have a young son... UNLESS... Rove cuts a deal with Fitz and hands him what Fitz may really want... a conspiracy case against those who outed Plame in order to smear Wilson and preserve the admin's Iraq WMD deception. So, in other words, Fitz has made a solid case against Rove to flip him and blow the more serious conspiracy case wide open.

I'm not a lawyer or versed in these matters, but I'm trying to say that Fitz is using Rove as a stepping stone to fry bigger fish on a much bigger case against the government. I certainly think Rove would flip like a breakfast at IHOP to save his arse from rotting in the slammer. I hope this is so, and 'B*sh's Brain' takes him and the rest of those traitors DOWN.

You know nothing. I know nothing.

Don't jinx any of it. Relax. There's too much out there that needs serious attention.

Let it go and let it proceed as it will. Save your time and energy for things over which you might exert some control.

For instance, hand-write your Congressman and Senators letters about how you feel about how this Administration is killing our country. Address it by hand, too, and put a stamp on it, and mail it, and make a difference.

site, they say snail mail takes a very long time because all of it has to go through a lot of testing before it's delivered...if it ever is, due to the anthrax scare!

I think a phone call or email or both are much better!

The FAX leaves a hard copy, but the problem is that sometimes, when things are really hot, the machines are impossible to get through on.

I'm telling you - handwritten letters - not typed, not wordprocessed - get the attention.

It's about basics, my children.

We've got to get back to basics in order to get their attention, and then we can begin to win.

It's work. It's not as easy as keyboarding and faxing.

And it's vital.

It's a joke. They're nothing, worthless, wastes of time. Witness all those "online petitiions," and guess what happened to them?

Nothing. They're not even ripped up and thrown away. They're just deleted.

Forget phone calls. They're recorded and put away.

I know the Hill. I've been a DC attorney for thirty years. These staffers have to get the letters in their hands, verifiable and real letters from VOTERS, CONSTITUENTS, the people for whom they really work, and those things CANNOT BE IGNORED.

That crap about anthrax is crap. Don't believe it.

Take the time. Make the effort. It's just like your Mom taught you to write thank-you notes when someone did something nice for you, only this time, you're doing something nice for your America.

Do you know? I know a few emails or phone calls are ignored, but so are a few letters. I suspect the bulk blast from petitions are deleted too! But a lot of individual emails on the same subject get their attention.

I have no problem sending a hand written letter, and I always keep stamps here to do so. I just believe the volume thing is the one that hit the bell!

They deliver the mail there, just like they do to us. If something is opened by a staffer and something odd falls out, well, you'll see it on CNN.

What? You think they've held up their constituent services for five years.

Come on.

Write the letters. It's the right thing to do. We own them, they work for us, and it's time to remind them of that.

I have sent about three of four hand written letters to various Senators and Reps. in the past few months. I've sent to the DC offices and their local offices. If you want to get a reply back, I'd suggest the local offices. I sent a letter to Russ Feingold right after the censure thanking him and got a postcard back today thanking me for the support. So that's what - about a month turn around? Not bad considering he's probably getting a lot of mail.

I can only articulate the all-consuming rage I've felt the years since 9/11, about the phony Iraq bloodbath, NOT pulling out all stops to find Osama- a desire for the real evildoers to get the justice they deserve- and now feel some satisfaction a little may be in reach.

Of course I know nothing. But thinking that justice may be meted to those who deserve it so badly, gives me hope. It can't come fast enough. Of course, talking about it won't make it happen- but I don't believe in jinxes, either.

Quit internalizing and being mad without getting something done with that energy.

Start writing letters. Longhand. Use a nice pen and nice paper.

You'll feel very much better, and you'll have done something wonderful.

Go do something wonderful, and quit being mad. It's a losing proposition. George W. Bush is mad all the time. You want to be in HIS camp?

If he indeed has THAT many charges piled on . . . yup, he'll flip like the squealin' piggie he is.

for a conspiracy charge. I do believe he's looking for the big fish, and I don't think he's interested in the outing of confidential info charge because it's too hard to prove. I'm no sure what the charge is for destroying the security of an undercover agent and her contacts to destroy your enemy is though. I'll have to do some research and see if I can find out.

The Repukes are going to win in 2006 cause we haven't fixed any of the voting problems from 2000 and 2004.

Rove may get indicted and he may have to retreat to a backroom to keep doing his gig.

But * will pardon anyone whose indicted so it means shit. I think even Libby's team is just trying to delay until after 2006 when * really goes Teflon and can do whatever the fuck he wants.

I applaud Fitz. I wish he could make this criminal Admin go down in flames in prison jumpsuits but unless * can be removed, Fitz' work is likely to be buried by pardons.
