Unions object to NWA Chapter 11 plan because of management payout

MINNEAPOLIS The three biggest unions at Northwest Airlines object to its reorganization plan.
They say the plan to give executives almost five percent of the company is too much.

The union objections came in response to Northwest's disclosure on Friday that C-E-O Doug Steenland would get 26-point-six (m) million dollars in restricted shares and options after the carrier exits bankruptcy.

The company had previously disclosed that its top 400 executives would get almost five percent of the company, but Friday was the first time it said how much Steenland would get.

The pilots say the principle of shared sacrifice is dead and buried.

Objections were also filed by flight attendants and the union that represents ground workers such as baggage handlers and reservations agents.

1. Shared sacrifice, what's that?

Workers are supposed to sacrifice, the executives get to share what's saved due to the sacrificing.

2. NW

Northwest has one of the best route systems, Europe and hubs in MSP,MEM, NRT,DTW
I think it is time for them to get a replacement for their older DC-9-30/40/50
They could be making tons of $$$$, it is too bad that the CEO feels the need to
make a bonus on the backs of all the employees
