Obama adds BBQ in Monroe for Labor Day campaigning

MONROE, Mich. -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama plans to make a stop in Monroe on Monday during a Labor Day weekend campaign swing through Michigan.

The Obama campaign says an afternoon barbecue with the Illinois senator is scheduled at Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 671. The visit follows a morning rally in Detroit at the end of the city's Labor Day parade.

Obama is also to appear at Battle Creek's Bailey Park on Sunday along with vice presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain is expected in Michigan after the GOP convention in Minnesota. He's scheduled a rally with running mate Sarah Palin at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights on Friday.
