ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A strong majority of workers at Royal Oak Ford, a major Detroit-area auto dealership, have voted in favor of UAW representation.

Workers voted 22-12 to become part of the UAW, in an election held in Royal Oak today. The 35-person bargaining unit includes technicians, service and parts workers, body shop repair personnel, and porters.

“We’re proud to be the first UAW dealership in Michigan,” said Warren Dolbeer, a technician with 26 years experience in auto repair, including the last eight years at Royal Oak Ford.
