1 June 2009

ST. PAUL - Wal-Mart workers, organizing to improve their workplaces, will rally Thursday, June 4, in St. Paul.
The rally will start at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, outside the Midway Wal-Mart store, 1450 University Ave. W., St. Paul.

“Wal-Mart workers across the country are taking on the largest corporation in the world. Twin Cities Wal-Mart workers are stepping forward for better workplaces and better lives,” United Food & Commercial Workers Local 789 said in announcing the rally.

“Seven workers from Minnesota stores joined workers from all over the country to bring their voices for change to Washington. They called for action – for passage of the Employee Free Choice Act so they could bring change to Wal-Mart. Hear from these workers and support their courageous action.”
