Labor Day with WIN

This Labor Day, Worker Independent News will be broadcasting a Labor Day Special on stations around the country.

WIN will run 24 - 30 second spots about labor and workers in the US. WIN would like you to help out by submitting something you’ve written, a vignette or three paragraphs, for the Labor Day Special. The 24 submitted pieces that are used will all have the attributions -- name and affiliation of the writer -- announced with their piece. The vignettes will be broadcast on KLOS in Los Angeles and WBBM in Chicago.

Here’s how you can participate. Please submit a vignette or three paragraph piece about US workers or the Labor Movement to WIN to frank@laborradio.org by Thursday, August 20th. Your piece must be 98 words or less. (It takes 30 seconds to read 98 words.) Your vignette can be about a specific union; about a concern of workers or about an action on Labor Day – past or present. In fact, look at this as an opportunity to announce the Labor Day activities in your area. WIN will let you know if your piece will be used and of course, the attribution for your piece will be your name and affiliation. And please tune in to on Labor Day to the station you listen to for WIN news or check out the WIN website www.laborradio.org to read the 24 chosen spots.
