Economic Report:
A study to be published in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine found that female hotel workers are 50 percent more likely to be injured on the job than men. The study suggests the reason is because women overwhelmingly hold jobs as housekeepers. Workers who hold such a position have a 7.9 percent injury rate. Additionally, the study reports that Hispanic female hotel workers have an injury rate two-thirds higher than white female hotel workers.
