Air Traffic Controller's Union Wants Discipline For Supervisor In Assault On Worker - 08/03/07

By Doug Cunningham

Air traffic controllers in Kansas City want the FAA to discipline a supervisor accused of assaulting controller Richard Brinker. The National Air Traffic Controller's Association says it's part of a pattern of abusive and intimidating behavior toward air traffic controllers. The incident happened July 13th. The supervisor was arrested, but so far the FAA management in Kansas City has not taken any action against the supervisor. The air traffic controller's union says he should not be allowed to continue to supervise air traffic controllers until the FAA investigates the incident fully and takes steps to protect the workers.

5. The supervisor should be fired
No matter what. There cannot be fighting on the job. If a person doesn't like a co-worker, then so be it. But they can't be physically fighting with each other. I worked at a place once where a supervisor got fired for shoving an employee. And it was the correct decision.
