I had to get a hoisting license from the City of Omaha (my employer) 4 years ago to be able to run a skid loader in case a situation came up that I needed to run one. I passed the test after studying for a couple weeks. I've never yet been in one.

Juan Manuel Gallegos-Castaneda, 24, was with a construction crew installing handicapped-accessible ramps along Maple Street.
He was working near 88th Street about 8 a.m. Wednesday when the bucket hit him in the head and pinned him, said Greg Armstrong, vice president of Swain Construction.
Armstrong said Gallegos-Castaneda was partially out of the skid loader and either his belt or a piece of clothing accidentally caught a lever causing the bucket to be lowered onto his head.
Police said Wednesday afternoon that Gallegos-Castaneda was in stable condition at Creighton and expected to live.
