A new report titled “Help Wanted: Projecting Jobs and Education Requirements Through 2018” finds that the United States may be short 3 million college educated workers by the end of this decade. Authored by Georgetown University, the study projects that 22 million new workers with college degrees will be needed by 2018. In order to meet that goal colleges need to start churning out 300,000 graduates per year on average. Part of the reason for the increased need for college degress is that the United States is moving toward what the study calls a “college economy.” With advancements in technology many jobs requiring manual labor are going overseas or necessitating smaller workforces.

1. My daughters are scheduled to come out of college
in 2018 and 2020. Maybe they will be able to get jobs. Of course the younger one is thinking Medical School.

Report seems pretty optimistic to me though.
