Healthcare workers in Hartford: Strike is over

back to work Sunday evening.

The workers had been walking the picket lines since Friday outside the administrative office of Sunrise Northeast.

"The union made an unconditional offer to return to work, meaning they have no terms and there is no agreement in place," says Jennifer Smith, spokeswoman for the New England Health Care Employees Union, District 1199.

"The point was for the union to come out and send a message that caregivers need better health insurance," Smith said.
