National Nurses United will battle deficit commission austerity proposals

http://www.laborradio.org/Channels/Story.aspx?ID=1311415

Lede: National Nurses United says the president’s deficit commission austerity proposals would victimize the most vulnerable among us with unnecessary cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Doug Cunningham has more.

By Doug Cunningham

Nurses are aghast at what the union calls cruel and senseless cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Michael Lighty is Director of Public Policy for National Nurses United.

: “It is an attack on the most vulnerable and it goes in the opposite direction of what we need to do, which is to shore up Social Security, improve the retirement benefit given the collapse of private sector pensions and also expand Medicare to include everyone. That’s really the only way to permanently stabilize Medicare.”

Lighty says there’s no doubt that if these proposals are adopted it will lead to misery, heartache and uncertainty for many of the most vulnerable Americans who have paid all their working lives into Social Security and Medicare. The union says it will mount a vigorous campaign against these deficit commission proposed cuts.

: “We’re going to mount a massive effort among Registered Nurses across the country over the next few weeks to oppose these proposals.”

1. It should lead to massive protests and riots
which of course will be put down with brutal police tactics learned from the nazis..speaking of which the CIA announced this morning they admit they did hire/rescue Nazis and bring them into our intelligence agencies.
I have been saying that for years and getting jeered at.

At one point I had access to the online Library of Congress and read a whole bunch of heinous stuff about the bushes and our intell companies ..only to find out when I went back to make copies..that it had all been classified by shubmaladministration. We also were out loud objecting to ballot shredding on the night of the 2000 election(in dem part of down of course).
I know this is off topic, but it seems to me that 'they' have been cracking dow harder on those of us who should be free and trying to make us afraid and weak and to feel powerless. We earned the captial that made this country what it was when it was great, now the haves will steal even the breath of life to gain a few billion more over our sick and dying while they sip champaign on their Riviera bound yacht or jet. Enjoy your mac and powerded immitation cheeze and corn syrup jelly.
