Indiana House Panel Passes Right to Work for Less

http://blog.aflcio.org/2011/02/21/indiana-house-passes-right-to-work-for-less/

by Tula Connell, Feb 21, 2011

This in from the Indiana State AFL-CIO:

While thousands of Indiana workers rallied, the falsely-labeled “right to work” legislation passed the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee on a party-line vote.

In the process, the Chairman cut off more than 30 Hoosiers who had asked to testify, silencing their voice in this debate!

Working men and women from across the state will continue to gather at the Capitol in Indianapolis. With this disastrous bill moving to the House, now is the time to make our voices heard!

1. Here's more:
"Supporters of the bill, including the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Manufacturers Association, said that that this is about giving all workers the freedom of choice not to join a union."

The bill is now on its way to the House. I am sickened because it will pass....although there are a few repubs who are not in favor. If this bill, H.R. 1468, passes, it will erode the unions form the inside out....defunding them.

2. The "Right to be Poor" rears it's ugly head once again.
Unfortunately Indiana seems to be the RED-headed step child of the midwestern states when it comes to progressive issues.
