Save On Brew.com offers savings mostly on American, union-made beer

http://www.midatlanticlabor.com/appiesnet/wordpress/?p=1637

I recently became acquainted with an interesting website that I think we should support for a number of reasons. SaveOnBrew.com http://www.saveonbrew.com helps connect beer consumers with discounts and sales offered by retailers in your community.

I immediately noticed that most of beer on sale was American-made and often with union labor although some imports are listed by local retailers in some locations. Personally, I believe in buying American and buying union whenever possible.

SaveOnBrew.com does not actually sell beer but helps you save money by making you aware of the best deals available locally. You are keeping your purchases in your local community. Many of us are activists who will be holding warm weather events in coming months where beer is served and we might as well get the best deal we can get.

FULL story at link.

2. Most the beer in the NW is craft brewed ...
Breweries that are too small for unionization, but beloved by their employees ....

Portland is home to many local independent brew houses ... I support them over the multinational corporate swill that Bud and others have become ....

12. I visit the Schell's Brewery every year.
They can't sell beer on premises but you can pick up cases of any variety you want in town for super cheap. I always stock up. :). Got Lakemaid one year too. Good stuff!

8. Ok, another reason to go to Wisconsin!
I did follow a link ( http://www.howtobuyamerican.com/content/db/b-db-american-union-made.shtml#Beer )from up the thread, and found that Leinenkugel's is on the list, and they seem to have some OK distribution in my part of the Northeast. When it hits 90, I'll be putting back some of their Summer Shandy.

I also noticed Mad River Brewing on the list, their Steelhead Double IPA is a great microbrew. Also, I notice that Henry Weinhard's is also there, but I think they've scattered their brewing around. I know that Full Sail in Hood River does some contract brewing for them, and while I cannot determine if FS is union, I do know that they're employee owned.
