National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon announced his selection of Ms. Mori Rubin to serve as Regional Attorney of the Agency’s Region 31 office in Los Angeles, California. In her new position, she will be responsible for the supervision of legal work in cases arising under the National Labor Relations Act in Region 31, which servicesportions of Los Angeles and six other counties in Southern California.

A Summa Cum Laude graduate of UCLA, Ms. Rubin earned a BA in economics with Phi Beta Kappa honors in 1977. She graduated from the University of California Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall), where she served as the Research and Reviews Editor for the Industrial Relations Law Journal (now called the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law). Ms. Rubin started her career with the Agency in October 1980 as a Field Attorney in Region 31. She became a Supervisory Field Attorney in May 2007 and Deputy Regional Attorney in 2008. A resident of Malibu, California, Ms. Rubin and her husband Larry Drapkin have a son, Zachary, and two daughters, Zara and Tenaya.

The NLRB administers and enforces the National Labor Relations Act. It conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees desire union representation and investigates and remedies unfair labor practices.
