Weirton Medical Center and SEIU 1199 Reach Tentative Agreement

WEIRTON -- Weirton Medical Center announced Friday morning that a tentative agreement has been reached between the hospital and the Service Employee International Union Local 1199.

Weirton Medical Center President and CEO Joseph Endrich said ' While this tentative agreement with the union is good news, we are cautiously optimistic, as this agreement still has to go to the membership for ratification.''

Employees represented by the union include service and maintenance workers and technical staff.

Weirton Medical Center registered nurses are not represented by the SEIU or any union.

SEIU Local 1199 employees gave notice they would walk off the job Tuesday for five days if an agreement was not reached.
