Employee Free Choice Act (S.842/H.R.1696)
http://seiuaction.org/campaign/EFCA2005

Some 57 million U.S. workers say they would join a union if they could. But when workers try to gain a union voice on the job, employers respond with intimidation, harassment and retaliation. And our labor laws have become too weak to stop them.

The Employee Free Choice Act would ensure that when a majority of employees in a workplace decide to form a union, they can do so without the obstacles employers use to block their right to have a voice at work.

Please send a message to Congress urging them to co-sponsor the Employee Free Choice Act.

1. This legislation is a must...
Our local has been very active in lobbying Dan Burton and Sen. Lugar

These two will probably never co-sponsor, unfortunately.

I am going to contact my reps on tuesday on this one.
Thanks for bringing it up.
Although with a repuke Congress and Senate, this may be a tough one to get through.
I just don't understand the repuke stance.
Unions give people higher wages, which in turn generates more tax money, which allows more spending, which makes businesses GROW.
But they persist in trying to kill unions...beats the hell outta me how they think that killing unions is good for their base:shrug:

OOPS, couldn't recommend, post is more then 24 hrs old...

Altho you should post this over in GD, then we could recommend it.
