1. I gave never been to Turkey, but I spent about a month in Greece once

I loved Athens- what a lively city. My favorite island was Santorini. Crete was also very interesting. There is a place called Meteora in Kalamba in central Greece, where there are monasteries built into the side of the cliffs. It is a different type of Greek visit and not very touristic- at least not when I was there twenty some years ago.

Have fun- and be sure to try to ouzo and the retsina!

2. Turkey is wonderful!

Istanbul is a must, of course. Don't miss the whirling dervishes! Cappadoccia is great fun. Another great place is Ephesis (Selcuk).

4. Chimpy McSmirkers and I honeymooned in Greece

(it'll be 10 years ago in a week!). The island of Santorini is absolutely gorgeous. We also went to Mykonos, which was nice, and spent a couple of days in Athens.

We found a really great website run by a guy who goes every year.

His site is very helpful; we wound up using Dolphin Hellas to book our trip online and Aliki was great!
