Maybe some of you can help me with this.

I’m considering going on a trip late this summer to northern Manitoba. One of the suggestions for what to take is:

"Bug jacket/hat, rain gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, sun hat, sturdy walking shoes and rubber boots are a must."

Can someone enlighten me as to what bug jacket & hat are?
