Anyone flown with British Airways recently?
I'm asking coz even though I booked with Qantas, it's a code-share flight and BA operate it. I'm going to Europe in a few weeks and my daughter is complaining coz on Qantas long haul flights they give out big bags of snacks and she reckons that BA won't. Me, I'm more worried that the legroom might not be as much as on a Qantas flight, coz one of my friends told me airlines differ in how much legroom they give people in economy class....

1. I just flew USScare from EU to USA 2 wks ago
They nickel and dimed us for everything. The guy next to me regularly flies BA, and he said they still give you things for free (headsets, booze, snacks)

2. ARRRRRGGH!
We're flying SCareways in December to Paris, because we couldn't get the AirFrance flights we wanted.

I'm dreading it, even though there's a chance of an upgrade. (I'd almost rather fly steerage on AirFrance than first class on USCare except for the leg room).

Why are US air carriers so awful? Service, price, leg room and maintenance? Oh, that's right, it's because they have to pay the shareholders.

3. I'm going to Japan in November, and even though I could
fly non-stop on Northwest or earn 100% miles by flying on United, I'm instead flying to San Francisco on United, using frequent flyer miles, spending the night there, and flying to Tokyo on All Nippon Airways, which will earn me only 70% miles on United's Mileage Plus.

It'll be worth it. ANA has the world's sweetest flight attendants, good food, a wider selection of video options than U.S. carriers, and, on this particular route (but not all), more leg room.

4. Yeah, I got lots of freebies...
...like the eyeshades, the little toothbrush and toothpaste, and as much wine as I wanted to drink. Mind you, considering the price of the tickets, I'd have been pissed off if I had to pay for food and stuff on top of that. On the shorthaul flights from London to Prague and Budapest to London we didn't get much, but there was heaps more legroom (or at least it seemed that way) than on the longhaul flights from and to Australia where I felt like I was crammed in like a sardine...
