but I wouldn't have watched this if I knew he was asking for money.

God bless him, if I had two nickels to rub together I'd send one in to Kucinich. And honestly, why would a politician bother to produce a YouTube video if not to pitch for money?

For the rest of you: he leads with the fact that 10,000 Republicans crossed over to vote in the Democratic Primary in a single county in Ohio in what Kucinich says was a cynical attempt to game the democratic process in an effort to unseat him. The local newspaper is actively supporting the Republican nominee who will be running against Kucinich in the fall. He's got a tough race ahead of him and he's being targeted because he's challenging the Bush administration.

So please donate etc. (I stopped after that so I don't know if anything of consequence was said.)

edited to reduce inflammatory nature of my subject line.

it speaks volumes about our electoral system that politicians have to spend more time begging for money than governing.

The cost of getting elected now is insane and by it's very nature breeds corruption. How anyone can remain untainted within this corrupted system is beyond me. It says a lot about the Kucinich's and Wexler's of the world. The odds they are up against are amazing and it makes one wonder what this world would be like if we truly had a fair, commonsense democratic system instead of the corporate/criminal/fake-democracy imposed on us that's left us with a choice between, Tweedledee, Tweedledum, and Tweedledummer instead of anyone of real substance that would actually represent The People instead of the corporate/old money elites these remaining clowns do represent.

I don't understand why he hasn't introduced articles of Impeachment of Bush like he promised.
He was also raising funds on the Alex Jones show, promising a new 9/11 Investigation.

14. I Agree
But we were told from the beginning who to worship and who should represent us. Many fell for the images hook line and sinker and are now slitting each others throats in favor of their chosen candidates. A sad and sorry spectacle to watch in Democrats.

I think that Dennis is owed much respect and thanks for what he has tried to do for his district and the rest of us. He got $100 from me for his Congressional primary and will get another $100 for this battle. I know that it must probably suck for him to have to constantly appeal for funds, what Randi calls "dialing for dollars", it can be so demeaning. I really hope that we can get more like Dennis in Congress and the Senate who would put an end to the vicious "dialing for dollars" cycle and make elections publicly funded. Way to go Dennis, this country is in desperate need for more like you!

He has only been voted in as nominee, to run against the Republican nominee for the Congressional seat in Nov.

He and Howard Dan are the only 2 politicians I would donate $ to. I guess I'll cough up again even tho I am spending more for groceries, creating a stock pile of flour, ( wheat shortage comming atcha), salt, ( think back to your early social studies/history classes) WHy DID THEY sail those little ships all the way from MAine to CHina? To get the things we couldn't grow here. "Play it again Sam."

26. Thanks for posting.
He is not my congressman but was my 1st choice for president. I hated to see him have to bow out and then have to fight for his own seat because of the rebel in him -- to take on the seemingly thankless and sadly dangerous task of upholding the Constitution as one of the few voices challenging the illegalities in the way this gov't has operated the past 7 years. Thank goodness for the internet where he could get his voice heard because the M$M would certainly not want this out.

Imagine if more Dems in congress were like this man!!!! :patriot: :applause:

30. More Money for the Corporate media?
I think he should just stand strong and continue working for the people with his promised Impeachment of Bush and 9/11 Investigations instead of playing the poor me and asking for money. The money ends up in the hands of the corporate media, and trust me the ads he was running in the primary were not helping his cause. He hired the same people that 'helped' on his presidential campaign.

He needs to take action and let that speak for him. Right now, he looks as if he is backing off due to the threats he received from AIPAC and Pelosi.

He can't investigate anything unless he stays in office. Would you rather have him voted out? Do you think the next guy would give you the time of day?

It's always mystified me how the 9/11 truth crowd has worked so hard against Dennis when he's one of the only politicians who bothers to even listen to them.
Fact is, Marty - that joe average the mainstream guy has been completely turned off by the 9/11 truth movement, as have many of your natural allies - folks
like me. You have no one but yourselves to blame.

34. I want him to investigate now
I don't know what you are talking about with the 9/11 truth movement. Everyone should want the real truth about that day, it shouldn't be an issue. Kucinich has promised an investigation and asked for donations based on this. I merely want him to do what he has promised. There are many many months before the general election. I want Dennis to get to work on Impeachment as well, not wait around for 6 months. He is acting as if someone has been threatening/bribing him.

38. of course you do
You don't care if he gets re-elected. You want him to conduct an investigation that will ensure that he doesn't. That's what you're saying. You don't care what happens to him, as long as he meets your demands.

Tell me this, MartyL - are there enough 9/11 truthers in DK's district to re-elect him?

I doubt it. He may have to actually discuss mainstream issues like health care that matter to everyone except the most zealous tinfoil hat wearers, in order to be re-elected.

No one is bribing or threatening him. He's had other stuff going on.

So, what good will it do you if he loses? Will the Republican who takes his seat capitulate to your infantile demands?

33. I was visiting CLeveland several times recently
Cimperman had half a million dollars in corporate bucks and he was running several attack ads against Dennis.

Dennis has hard core support in his precinct, but I think he needed some tv exposure to counter the ads.

If the Republicans see weakness, the GOP candiate will be rolling in money. The corporate big money donaters in Cleveland are comitted to defeat Dennis.

36. Kucinich had $700,000
If you had been as involved in the presidential campaign as I have , you would realize that his campaign staff is attempting to prevent him from accomplishing anything. Chad Ely creates horrible embarrassing videos. This one for instance, comes less than one week from winning his primary, and he is already asking for money for November. I don't know who is advising him, but this is in very poor taste. It is time for him to act on what he promised when asking for money for the primary. He made the rounds in the alternative press promising an Impeachment of Bush resolution and 9/11 Investigations based on insider trading.

Instead, He is planning on a vacation to England for one month rather that pursue truth and justice. We need him to act now. Time is running short. Bush is still lying, they are still pretending the surge is working and planning a war on Iran. We are running out of time to Impeach. After Conyers being such a big disappointment, I thought at least we could count on Kucinich...

40. I don't want Dennis to lose! Are you crazy?
I worked as a volunteer for his presidential campaign.
Now that his primary is over, I expected he would introduce Articles of Impeachment of Bush, as he had said he would at the State of the Union. He also said he would begin 9/11 hearings which many activists have been waiting for. We need to expose the lies and corruption and end the phony war on terror so that none of the presidential candidates and congressional members will continue with the B.S. and there is no time to lose.

43. I'm not crazy
but I'm not so sure about you.

The 9/11 truth folks are completely oblivious to how they are viewed by the rest of the world. Mainstream voters have contempt for you. For Kucinich to get into this now, before the election would be political suicide. If you had an ounce of political savvy and could see beyond your own zealotry, you'd understand that.

You want him to lose. You're begging him to take action that guarantees he'll lose.

44. You are using a canned excuse
and name calling is not the way a real Kucinich supporter deals with conversations.

I have been posting about Dennis for years, and just recently have been attacked by folks like you, who insult me for asking questions. You have no evidence that pursuing a 9/11 Investigation as he has recently promised, would actually hurt his chances. The same with Impeachment.

Standing up and doing your job in Congress, actually working for the people who vote for you, is how you win elections...or at least it should be. Dennis has always been a man of courage, so what has changed?

"JonesReport.com
February 20, 2008Congressman Dennis Kucinich revealed that he is initiating an investigation of the insider trading that took place leading up to 9/11, particularly in regards to put options placed on American Airlines and United Airlines stock.

Kucinich said that he had personal questions about the implications insider trading had.

“I’ve indicated a long-standing interest in gathering information and trying to get to the bottom of exactly what happened with respect to all the stock activity that took place preceding 9/11.” Kucinich said.

Kucinich said it was the bizarre record-level put options that caught his attention initially. The odd trades heavily indicate prior knowledge of the September 11 attacks and have raised a number of questions that Kucinich hopes to probe.

“First of all, I’m not afraid to ask questions about 9/11,” Kucinich told the Alex Jones Show.

you're not.

And if you've been posting here about DK for years, how come you have such a low post count?

Did the 9/11 truthers elect Dennis? Are there enough of them to keep him in office? Yes or No.

I have plenty of evidence that pursuing a 9/11 investigation would destroy him. All you need do is read the newspapers, MartyL. What do you suppose the Cleveland Plain Dealer would make of such an investigation?

You are either a deliberate saboteur or you're incredibly naiive. It doesn't matter. Either way you want to destroy him.
