I betcha Dennis had a role in that move. I just loved how Goode seemed to be squirming back and forth, looking for a way out.

He's not going to hold Mr. Goode's ignorance against him. He's going to dispel his dillusions about Muslims.

I am very, very impressed with him. He knows he has a lot on his shoulders, being a rep. not just for his district but for all Muslims in America, and he has proven himself to be worthy of the job.

That is just unreal! Classy man, that Rep. Ellison. Way to go!

I'm proud to live in his district. I was able to tell him to his face what a class act he is. He knows he's not just representing my district, but he's also representing every Muslim in America. That's not fair, but it's true, and he's equal to the challenge.

It's unfortunate, that all a bigot has to do is slither over the bar and people think them worthy, but someone like Keith Ellison, who hasn't got a bigoted bone in his body, has to leap for a much higher standard. Keith hits that high standard almost all the time, but when he misses it with something stupid, people start in on him. (Remembering Thanksgiving when the bigot in the family was talking about how "scary" he is - because of parking tickets. Big freaking whoop! That was my reaction. And this is someone represented by Michele Bachmann.)

Michele Bachman makes my skin crawl.

That was a good move on Ellison's part - Thomas Jefferson's Koran. Very shrewd. Until then, I admit, I was pre-judging Ellison. Oh, not as a terrorist but the other way - a little on the passive side.

But the way he's handled this whole fake controversy changes that opinion.

As part of the initiation, they had to fulfill a variant of a famous bar game. In this case, it was "Shake hands with a douchebag." The one who made physical contact with the most abhorrent douchebag wins.

I knew he would represent our district with class. He had a hell of an election season with all the muck that the local paper threw and his IP and GOP opponents threw at him.

He was a DINO for many years, but then turned Independent. A few years after that he turned Republican.

Regarding his recent commentary, making it at all reflected ignorance and prejudice, but defending it after the fact reflected a foolish sense of pride.
