1. Byrd easily gives the most passionate speeches...
Thanks for sharing. I still remember him waving the Constitution around protesting...that it gives Congress the authority to declare war...not the President.

3. Such a tremendous speech but...
it's painful to watch it knowing just how right he was and what an unmitigated disaster Iraq has become. Byrd showed such courage.

4. Wow, that was wonderful
I just copied the speech to my computer. Definitly one of those things you come by you just need to save. You don't know why, you just need it. His speech was that. It powerfully explained why NOT to go to Iraq, and sadly, all he said was correct. What a wonderful speaker.

5. K&R! Brought back great memories of Byrd.
Somebody should award him something special and make this video available to every high school student in the country from this day forward and forever after.

The only way you can resist the tendency in the human spirit to turn to fascism is by constant, CONSTANT education and reiteration.

I remember when Byrd was the only one standing up to this warmongering and completely incompetent regime.

If nothing more good comes of this war, this is at least something: Byrd standing in front of the Senate haranguing the politicians for their cowardice and idiocy.

6. I don't know what award we could give him.
We've already named about everything in West Virginia after him and my wife & I don't plan to have any more children.

I think this will go down in history as his finest hour.
