I just got back from Louisiana where I visited my various family members in and around the Cameron Parish area. It was my first visit since hurricane Rita hit in 2005. The damage there was overwhelming and resulted in the complete destruction of the little town of Grand Chenier, where my father was raised. Other towns consisting of thousands of people and homes where completely wiped out not one single structure survived in the places like Cameron, Creole and Holly Beach.

Anyway, I was inspired to make this video using the music of my cousin's cajun band trying to bring a little light back on Southwest Louisiana and the havoc this storm caused.

I hope lot's of people see it and enjoy the music. If anyone is interested in buying a cd from the band, I don't know how to do that but I am sure I can find out. The group's name is Honky Tonk Band and all the members hail from the area most damaged by Rita.

1. thank you for making and posting this.
I have focused on Katrina relief, with Rita's aftermath being a poor step-child. I apologize and thank you for posting this.

2. I appreciate your comments
Please comment on the video and rate it if you get the chance. The more people who see what Rita did,the better chance the survivors have of getting the help they need to rebuild.
