1. The only sane voice...
has a few points.

What if you're NOT the average family?

What if you drive a truck for a living?

What if you're a farmer faced with 50% higher fuel costs?

What if you have a one-hour drive to work because
you can't afford to live inside the expensive city limits?

What if you drive a taxi?

What if you're a home health care worker,
who visits patients who can't get to a doctor's office?"

Of course, Obama supporters will fail to point out Obama's support, and vote for a gas tax relief for Illinois in 2000. His reasoning? It would be a tremendous help for the state's citizens due to the sudden hike in gas prices. The average price for a gallon of gas then was a whopping $1.57(app.) Obama supporter, displaying once again, their ability to speak out of both sides of their mouths at the same time. Thanks.

8. Obama address his support of the gas tax in 2000, and why he knows it will not work in 2008!
"Of course, Obama supporters will fail to point out Obama's support, and vote for a gas tax relief for Illinois in 2000"

He said today on time Meet the Press, and I quote:

Tim:
Why are you against giving tax payers in IN and NC a relief from he Fed Gas tax this summer?

Obama:
This is a classic Washington Gimmick it's a political response to a serious problem we have neglected for decades.
you are looking at suspending the gas tax for 3 months, the Avg. Driver would save 30 cent per day for a grand total of $28. That's assuming that the oil companies don't step in and raise the gas prices back up to the same amount the taxes have been reduced.
And by the way I have some experience with this
Because in IL in the we tried this was I was in the senate and that's exactly what happened the oil companies and retailers were the ones who ended up benefiting.

Tim:
You voted for it?

Obama
I did, exactly

Tim:
When Gas was on $2 a gallon

Obama
And that's my point, I voted for it and then 6 months later we took and consumers had not benefited at all, and we loss revenue.

Tim:
So you learned from a wrong vote

Obama:
I learned from mistake. And in addition what happens is this would come out of a federal highway fund that we use to rebuild our roads and brides, and if we don't have that fund we are looking at thousands of jobs that will be lost in NC and IN.
Now Senator Clinton says she is going to use the "windfall" profits tax. First of all, she's already said she is going to use the windfall for something else, as i have, invent in clean energy and other important measures, so that money she already spending twice. More importantly nobody thinks George Bush is actually going sign a law for windfall profits so it's not going to happen this summer."
End quote

It's clear the Gas Tax Holiday is another way to Hillary tries to bait and trick the LIV into blindly following her. It's actually an insult to the people that are supporting her that she plays these games.

6. How did CNN arrive at those issues to post Obama's position on?
Havey they done the same thing with any broadcasts of McCain and Clinton? I don't watch CNN (largely because I don't subscribe to cable or satellite).

Even if they did something similar to Clinton and McCain's campaign talks, the graphics are a distraction to the speaker's message.

Like I've said, Obama is attacking status quo. And the people in power who want status quo are very uncomfortable and angry with Obama.

4. Side note - wtf is with CNN's slide show on the side - extremely distracting,
drowns out the message and sure at those conservative wedge issues right off the bat, just in case some wingnut was impressed and started thinking about voting for him. Pretty damned blatant message there. US elections are such a damned joke, it's absolutely sickening.

7. Barack must have had some wine or beer;
Edited on Sun May-04-08 09:10 AM by greiner3
At that picnic because his delivery was way off on this video. Good points thought!

On edit; Barack finished well. One more point; There is nothing wrong with this and everybody needs more, but the young man standing behind Barack looks at one point like he is having an orgasm. 5:45 on the video.
