1. Such a thoughtful and elegant speaker
This guy is so smart. He has his advisers push him on subjects to learn as much as he can on everything. And then, pick it apart and push again. This way he can understand where he falls down on his understanding on the issues.

2. I'm telling ya, he's awesome.
And I never lean toward any candidates this early in a presidential race. He is direct yet optimistic and speaks in a language everyone understands. I always thought that was what sunk Gore and Kerry, their inability to engage in plainspeak. It works in reaching the masses.

3. I never decide on a primary candidate. No one ever really pulled my support
With the dems, they have not really offered anyone to get excited about. I remember in the 80s we had Mondale, Dukakis, the clinton(who was great) then gore (who ran a kinda lackluster campaign though I liked him), Kerry...sigh.
I started to like Dean when his campaign blew up.
But, when Obama campaigned for senator here, well, he was super.

4. What I find encouraging is that
many people I speak to, including my in-laws (vastly conservative republicans), really like Obama. When he ran for the Senate seat in Illinois, it was a big deal that my republican aunt voted for him. I think he has the ability to cross party lines. I think it is somewhat like McCain six years ago during the republican primaries, he had the ability to reach independents then (but not anymore!).

6. I know, I know...it does not mean they actually will.
But, like I said. I do know personally of at least one who already has voted for him. But just like the past mid-term elections demonstrated, it is not the republicans, but the independent voters who should be courted.
