Co-hosts of ABC's The View talked about remarked President George W. Bush made during a speech in Israel. Bush had suggested that Democrats including Barack Obama wanted to "appease" terrorists in the way that some politicians appeased Hitler.

Co-host Joy Behar mentioned the fact that it was George W. Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, who was known to have ties to Nazi Germany.

Behar said, "It's very interesting and ironic that George Bush Sr., (George W. Bush's) grandfather, this one, the late — I don't like to speak ill of the dead but in this case it's fun. He was a united states senator, Prescott Bush. He was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. This is his grandfather. He has no business talking to Jewish people when he's got this right in his backyard, this guy."

SHE is the reason I would NEVER watch that show....
She must have a relative (or someone who is more than a "friend")in the production end of the show...else why would they keep her on?.

I just watched the 1940 movie, Mortal Storm, recently which shows the subtle rise of the Nazi's and SS to power over Germany and the frightened idiots who sold out their close friends and families to be part of the propaganda.

She is so mindless of the harm she causes to innocent people by her thoughtless remarks.
If she had grown up in Iran or even knew about the culture she would not even suggest nuclear action.

Can't she see the total down turn that our country has taken under this simpleton's greedy embezzling reign.It is a constant erosion of justice that must be rebuilt with the innocent having the advantage.

She must be asked how we would asses innocences without hearing the defendant.
We must communicate with those whom we disagree.

How can she call herself a Christian when he bade us to love our neighbor and she wants to cut off anyone who is threatening ?

A joy to watch is Chris Matthews tearing up rightwing talkshow host Keven James regarding Bush's appeasment comment.



With the dismal prospects for the GOP this Fall, it's really no surprise to see these idiots come unhinged. Their lockstep message has seriously gone off track.

Really, how do people like that live with themselves. They lie to themselves daily and console themselves that those lies are not lies, and everyone is wrong but them and their close family and friends who think the same.

If for instance you DARE to bring up a FACT like Prescott Bush's Nazi appeasement past, its 1. Ignore 2. Deflect (Some opposing figure did something somewhat, sort-of, not quite, well not really, similar, so that makes it alright) 3. Anger if the subject is not switched over to your red herring strawman argument.

It must be exhausting to constantly be clogging the truth filter in your brain, just so you can falsely claim you are always right about everything and everybody that you have supported and voted for.

Elizabeth is a shrill, ugly, human being. And to think I had a mild crush on her watching her one claim to fame, Survivor.

What makes people like Elizabeth tick? I think, deep down they're just afraid... they're afraid of chaos and doubt... they're afraid of becoming a victim; so they act tough. Also, they're terrified of the possibility that they may have been wrong in their world view and so they lock themselves into a position regardless of its tenability. The idea of a malevolent Bush administration is a threat to her identity since she has avidly and blindly supported these war criminals. In her mind, "We" are the "Nazi appeasers" and if she's wrong... then by default she's a "Nazi appeaser" and that isn't possible.

Though it is true... the Bush regime has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. The abuses at Abu Ghraib that were sanctioned and discussed by Cheney is irrefutable proof of the charge; though it is but a tiny fraction of the criminal disdain they have shown for humanity. It would be an embarrassment and indeed an unmitigated family shame to be publicly whoring out your services to demons from the devils own inner circle. People like Elizabeth can't allow Bush to be a monster because she is so much like him... that would make her a monster too and that just can't be.

I sort of feel bad for her... there is a lot of shame to be answered for and I'm not sure I would wish that sort of emotional debt on anyone. Imagine not knowing that Bush is really evil and then one day waking up to the fact that you not only openly supported an ideology that resulted in the deaths of possibly a million people but you also aided an abetted their crime by peddling propaganda. Anyone with a conscience would be ashamed... anyone without a conscience isn't worth discussing. If she never opens her eyes... well then I really feel bad for her.

but I'll be damned if I'll ever watch her on this show. I suppose they need to have a *gasp* conservative on the show to somehow appear to be "balanced" but Hasselbeck is as good as a post with no credibility at all. You have to wonder who actually agrees with her out in the "real world"--I have a hard time envisioning any woman out in the audience, with a dress and June Cleaver's pearls, ironing and starching shirts, nodding enthusiastically to the blonde bimbo's comments. Unless it's Phyllis Schafly, Babs Bush, Laura Bush, Ann the harridan, Michelle Grimalkin or Bay Buchanan! (There are a few dozen more, I'm sure. There aren't that many strings of pearls out there, though, for too many women to be wearing them!)

This is a good thing, though (despite my personal distaste for this show). These fights on The View get a lot of mainstream coverage, and as a result the Prescott story will gain even more exposure.

I sent them a futile email asking them why nobody ever counters Elizabeth's bullshit talking points, like "Why did Obama think Bush was talking bout him? Does he feel guilty or does he have something to be ashamed of?" No, Elizabeth. I'll speak slowly so you can understand. John McCain named Obama the same day Bush spoke, and the White House before Bush's speech said "expect something big." Quit lying, Elizabeth. It's demeaning.
