This is the confession book to end all confession books from ex-Bush staffers. Scotty McLellan actually says the "Liberal Media" let the country down by not exposing Bush's lies.

2. Great Book Review! I think Scotty knew he was lying most of the time,
that's why he was always covered in flop sweat.

7. Doing the right thing is always a good thing.
I agree that it was a tad late. But I applaud every member of Bush's government (hell, every Republican) who speaks up loudly (and now) about what they know is wrong within an out-of-control government that has high-jacked their party for legitimacy.

From this point forward, I will encourage Republican candidates for office to change their affiliation to "Independent" for the duration of the boil-lancing and pus-draining that needs to occur in the Party of Lincoln.

I will also thank every Republican who votes like an Independent this fall -- who acts with us to repudiate and remove every vestige of the twitching corpse that is Bush's body politic from every level of government.

Thanks, Scott. Now to the Garden.

6. My thinking is...
there is a whole lot of scrambling to protect themselves from the criminal prosecutions that are sure to come in '09 and beyond. McClellan et al think that by writing a tell all they absolve themselves of responsibility and/or culpability. For sure he has friends who are protecting him from Cheney's wrath.

11. Rats abandoning a sinking ship is what I always say.
I have not heard anything new except the fact that it was Cheney (I believe) that decided to pose bush for the fly over picture. Hahaha, even their defense to Katrina, and bush's caring about it, has been debunked. And still bush is being defended somewhat with the blame being placed more on the others in the administration.

10. Hey Scott...
Bush lied and chose politics over patriotism...what else is new? Tell us something we don't know!
Still, as this interview points out....details are important.

13. It's also important WHO is the messenger
Of course WE all know Bush has lied from day 1 in office. If we want to turn the ear of the swing voter in the next election then those independents who are on the fence about McSame need to hear from the horses mouth about just what kind of people would again be in charge if the Rethugs get in again.

15. M
All this discussion that Bush puts the country in a bind because of bad advice from bad advisors overlooks the fact that nothing ever prevents a President from taking it on himself to find the facts out and do the right thing on his own.

16. And don't forget...
... during the 2000 election there was much concern about Bush's lack of any kind of qualifications (Governor of TX? C'mon!)by many earnest people. The GOP brushed off such hand wringing with a "We'll surround him with top notch people" roll of the eyes.

Condie
Wolfie
Rummy

the list goes on.

These are the neo-con's top notch?

Now we have McCain, who's major qualification seems to be he was a POW over 30 years ago. From an AWOL-and-who-cares fake cowboy to an "all that matters is he was a war hero" old man. No...make that from a Hollywood B-actor with Alzheimer's to an AWOL-and-who-cares fake cowboy to an "all that matters is he was a war hero" old man.

Surreal.

Why anyone is still in the party is beyond me. Must have to do with money.

21. In honor of a great comedian's passing this week.
I feel compelled to respond to this admission from Scotty that Cheney was seemingly criminally complicit in Plamegate with the following quote from Rowan and Martin's laugh in.

"Say goodnight, Dick."
