...this statement reminds me when David Brock wrote his book and everyone called him liar.

I think this one is too close to the white house to just brush off like this, but they will, of course, try.

I'll be interested to see how Scotty handles himself next week when he appears on every show pushing this book.

...I got about one minute into the clip myself and couldn't take any more. Right around the time that he blamed the entire Plame thing on Armitage and declared himself and Libby to be guilt-free...

Congress should invite him up to the Hill for a visit.

I'm not going to comment on the Plame case because there's a lawsuit pending, but here's what happened: Richard Armitage did it and I didn't.

It really worries me that they don't remember so much. Do they remember who has the football? Do they remember where the red phone is? Do they remember that there are families behind those deaths in Iraq?

Oh, because he's telling the truth.

Okay, I get it.

account of the fly over of N.O. after Katrina. The book tells of a debate between Mc. (and others) and Rove as to whether the fly over would make the president look to the American people detached and out of touch. rove will not admit to this conversation. He does not come out and deny it. Yet he is, as he often does, skillfully using language to make it seem as though the conversation did not take place. He does not remember Scott being in the room?

You know that conversation went on. Conversations like that go on in campaigns every day. What Mc does not seem to have learned from his foray into the dark side is that as mr. bush is out of touch and detached his attempts to make the president appear not to be that which he is and rather to appear that which he is not, a caring, compassionate guy who wants the best for all people, is as dishonest as anything rove has ever done. And just as damaging. It is this kind of work and manipulation of appearance that helps creatures like bush to get elected. Instead of trying to actually get the president to actually care about the disaster by taking him there appearance was all that mattered. If a touch down and speaking to the people is what it would have taken to get him to understand the magnitude of the problem and the need of the people the trip would have been well worth it. But the only thing that mattered was that the president appeared to care.

Mc. may be trying to wash away the stains of this administration from his conscience or he may just be trying to make a buck. In the larger picture what it means to the American people is, I think, marginal. There seems to be little new in the book. It is extraordinary to have someone so close to the inner circle release such information with time still left in the administration. However I am of the opinion, and i doubt I am alone, that if the president himself came out and announced he lied about Iraq there would still be people who would not believe it.

as one by one they announce the others are criminals, and the remaining rats has to defend themselves...

Scotty's is the most damning so far, because he was the mouthpiece of the president in daily press briefings, and knows these people are a bunch of lying rats, and is calling them on it. I'm sure he knows a little more.

Love seeing the big piggy lie on tv...
