33. Not Perfect or Funny, Just Juvenile -- a Juvenile Attempt to OK Disenfranchise of Voters in 2 States
And so typical of Obama supporters.

The same lousy tactics the RWs have long used on us Dems as a whole, are the tactics used by the Obama camp on us Hillary supporters.

In fact, the Obama people have pretty much sought to drive out half the democratic party here,

Can anyone really think that's move in a positive direction?

Or a way to actually elevate the political process in a way consistent with Obama's pretty and pretty much empty rhetoric?

Really sad times for the party.

35. Hillary wants to ignore caucus states. What about OUR votes, asshole? We followed the rules.
We held our caucuses in line with the party rules agreed upon MONTHS before Iowa and New Hampshire held their votes, rules agreed upon by the candidates including Hillary and agreed upon by all 50 states. It was Michigan and Florida who decided to break the rules and screw their voters, not the party. Hillary and her campaign have called our caucuses "undemocratic" even though she praised them as a "wonderful tradition" all the way up to Iowa. She lost Iowa. After that, she started whining about caucuses and has even indicated we should ignore them in favor of primaries that provide popular vote tallies. Here in Nevada, we have a caucus that does NOT release such a tally, only percentages and delegates won. Like Iowa, our votes would be discarded in Clintonian math.

Fuck Michigan, fuck Florida, and fuck you.

And before you say it, I did NOT vote for Obama. I was ambivalent to them both in January and I'm still ambivalent to Obama now. Hillary, on the other hand, has lost the respect I had for her since 1992.

37. Nobody's Driving Anyone Off.
Hillary lost. Period. Arguing doesn't change that fact. That's the message I get from the video.

It's like in baseball. When you get called out on strikes, you can't argue about it. You just take your lumber back to the bench and ponder how you'll approach your next at bat. If you get one.

Yeah, there are some batters who'll argue the point. There are times where they may actually be right. But the call NEVER gets reversed. Ever. In fact arguing will likely just get you kicked out of the game and you really won't get that "next at bat" I just mentioned. That's where Hillary is right now. Hating the process after you've lost just makes you look silly.

38. So you're telling me that...
...the tactics of dishonesty, racism, and willful disregard for rules (which mirror RW tactics very closely) are somehow better than Obama's message of forthrightness, hope, and unity? Do you have something against hope? Why is it bad to have a positive message? I just don't get that. How can you know that his rhetoric is "empty" when he hasn't been elected (yet)? I could make the same argument about Hillary (empty rhetoric), as she has just as much to prove as he does.

40. That was perfect and funny
you just can't handl the truth how about this truth for you

"When Michigan and Florida moved their primaries ahead of the dates set by the Democratic National Committee, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton supported the party's decision to strip those states of their delegates.

Democratic Party officials are meeting this weekend to decide the fate of those delegates, and Clinton's campaign has been pressing to get at least some of them back. Clinton won both states, and having delegates reinstated would help her numbers.

But the senator's position on the delegate issue has shifted over time.

In September 2007, the crowd of Democrats running for president signed a pledge not to campaign in Florida or Michigan. The Democratic Party had punished those states for shifting their primaries and diluting the importance of early-voting states such as Iowa and New Hampshire.

At the time, Clinton was the front-runner, and she signed the pledge. Most candidates, like Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, went so far as to take their names off the ballot in Michigan. Clinton left hers on the ballot. During an interview on New Hampshire Public Radio, a caller asked Clinton what was up."

70. So you think that rules don't matter?
Or are you not going to answer that like so many Hillary supporters avoid?

The leaders in MI and FL decided they should be above the rules and not have to abide by them. They chose to take a risk by breaking those rules and it came around and bit them in the ass.

Your candidate, up to the point of figuring out she was LOSING, was fine with the decision that MI and FL would not count because they chose to break the rules that they had agreed to. Now, that she need thems, she 'suddenly' feels it's important that MI and FL be seated....

Keep those blinders on... and keep lieing... you're make yourself look more like an ass everytime you do.

Wahhhhhhh!!!

Oh, why...look at that---so much ANGST and "sad times" when Florida and Michigan are left out.

WHAT ABOUT THE CAUCUS STATES WHO VOTED AND FOLLOWED THE RULES???????????

Hillary's freakish "popular vote" metric LEAVES OUT (aka "disenfranchises") every
single DAMN VOTER in my state, and EVERY VOTER who hauled their asses to the caucuses!

What about us????????????????

Where's the tears, the concern, and the feigned outrage for us?????

And we voted!

Nimrods! Every one of ya!

You people don't even make sense anymore. Give it up!

I enjoyed Sliders quite a bit, but the series ran on a bit too long.

Jerry's main claim to fame nowadays, other than his support for Obama, is his marriage to super hot mutant babe Rebecca Romijn.

34. Imagine if the tables were turned?
We'd have a video where Obama, despite asking his supposed supporters not to would continue todo their very best to enrage, at minimum, 40+ % of the party.

It's a funny video, but it's unwarranted, especially versus another democrat. Why not keep your powder dry for dealing with what Karl Rove has brewed up for us? Nah. It's not like we might ever want help from Hillary or people who supported her. They're all stupid or evil.

By-the-way: Hillary wasn't my favorite, Edwards was, - but videos like this make me have some sympathy for her. Have some respect - there are legitimate issues of rules at stake. If not respect for her, then respect for the fact that we operate by rules and not an unruly mob, that someone who doesn't have the 50+1 mandate you all think Obama has can make a case to a deliberative body, rather than it being all convenience and fiat.

But let's continue.

In the Obama version you'd have scenes where Supporters or surrogates act like asses - including telling nearly half the other kids "we just don't need you - why don't you leave?", "I'm so sorry you're such losers - so now come and help us.", and insisting that a contest should end when 3 out of 5 kids voted for Obama when there's 25 more kids waiting to vote.

We could even get into some Obama supporting kids purposefully misinforming other kids about, and shoving them around at a caucus.

And of course there would be many, many scenes where kids would just poke their heads into rooms and say "Hillary can't win." and then not wait to say anything useful.

Yes those Obama kids have a certain sort of charisma going that's for sure.

And you know what?

I still think Obama could win.

41. Good Idea. Let's Imagine If The Tables Were Turned...
"Why not keep your powder dry for dealing with what Karl Rove has brewed up for us?"

Because Hillary won't let us. She still thinks she can somehow win this thing.

Oh, and if the tables were turned and it was Obama hanging on despite the math, insisting that the Democrats can't win without the Black vote, a commentary like this video would be justified. My guess, though, is that he would have bowed out a long time ago if the situation were reversed.

Consider this question honestly: if Hillary Clinton were some white guy named Hillman Smith, who WASN'T married to a party powerhouse, who took 12 straight losses in the primaries, is now behind in every reasonable metric, and whose campaign is millions in debt, would he still be in the race? Or would he have been LAUGHED out of the race back in March?

THAT'S the situation now. Hillary's lost. She's just too stubborn to realize it.

And we all know how well things turned out the LAST time we put a pig head in the White House...

43. Hillary won't let you?
Then I guess she has some power.

And a good politician, such as Obama, knows how to deal with opponents with power.

Do you think he'd like what's going on on DU? Do you think he'd say "yeah, run that video."?

or do you think he'd say "We're sitting pretty strong. Let's not antagonize people whose support we want in the general election. And, besides that, I'm going to be president for everyone, not just the people that voted for me - let's not get off on the wrong foot."

Take a wild guess.

Look, I think it's fairly certain Obama will be the nominee, now I'm concerned about how it will be characterized.

By-the-way - there are plenty of instances where candidates keep the contest going into June. Do you think Ted K. and Jimmy C. didn't really duke it out? There are plenty of examples, but now it's suddenly "sabotaging the party" to insist on remaining in the contest. Even the most charitable count for Obama makes it 55-45 right now and there is a chance (a near certainty in fact) of a brokered convention. How can you rationally argue that a candidate that believes in them self should just bow out when there's that possibility?

Hillary, by the way - not my favored candidate, never was. I liked Edwards.

He wouldn't be human if he didn't get a laugh, but I think he'd delete it. (or at least wouldn't run it.)

Also - gotta love how suddenly "plausible deniability" is no longer the toy only Republicans like to play with - many Obama supporters seem to love it now too.

And, yes, many Clinton supporters too.

But if he saw it, and had a choice to delete it or run it, what do you think he'd do?

Oh who cares! Speculation is just that....speculation.

Let speculate about something else.

Suppose Hillary graciously gave the nomination to Obama so the Dems could start planing its attack on McCain and Co...with her prominent in that process.? How do you think that would look.....for her and for him? What message would it send to both parties? Does she have to be president to get done what she wants to get done? Is that her only option?

I contend that this would be a huge show of strength for the Dems. An admonishment of the GOP bone-headed stubbornness and incapability to see reality. Show everyone that we are not power hungry brokers but a diverse group that can fuse to use our talents to get things done like adults and not like snotty children (the GOP I mean)

The point of the video is that she is acting like a child. Like a Repug, iffen you ask me. We can win....we will never back down.... even when it's hurtful. Progress is just around the corner! Sounds like Bush on Iraq.

46. You're Trying To Twist The Point...
...but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Are you really saying that a satirical video is enough to strengthen or sink a political campaign? Really? When did this start?

Remember Saturday Night Live? That show's been on more than thirty years. And there have been shows like that before SNL, with SNL, and likely after SNL leaves the air. It's a SHOW. Nothing to get in a tizzy about. It's the same with videos like this one. And as I said, if the situation were reversed, you'd see videos "bashing" Obama. In fact, you see 'em NOW if you know where to look. The people who create them has just as much right to their opinion and interpretation of current events as you do to yours.

You know what the REAL sad commentary is? That there are actually people out there who are planning to base their vote in November on videos like this one--or on what some nameless, faceless person said on a message board--and not on the actual candidates' message or plan. Honestly? It's voters like that that need to keep their ass home on November 4.

And sure, the primary season has gone into June, and indeed into the Convention. Kennedy took his delegates into the Convention as you said. Jesse Jackson did also in '88. Hillary has every right to in 2008. The difference between Hillary and those other two? While Kennedy & Jackson never ended their campaigns, they didn't bash the front runner after it was clear they weren't gonna catch up. They didn't try to change the rules because the ones in place (that they AGREED TO) didn't result in their victory. They never said publicly that the front runner will lose in the general because "their people" will never vote for him. Jackson never made the argument that those who didn't support him were somehow prejudiced.

The similarity? In both '80 and '88, the prolonged, party-fracturing nomination fight led to a loss in the general despite a favorable electoral climate. Carter began the general campaign as a sitting President ahead of Reagan in the polls--and lost big in November. Dukakis began the general campaign 17 points ahead of Bush Sr. in the polls--and lost by eight (and an even bigger margin in the Electoral College). That's why MOST candidates go ahead and get out when they see the writing on the wall. The ones that stay in exercise that right for a reason, and usually don't go around knee-capping the presumptive nominee.

Count me as one who believes Hillary has every right to stay in the race. She's been in this long, there's nothing wrong with seeing it through. There's just a right way and a wrong way to do things. I think she's doing it the wrong way. I think she's DONE it the wrong way. Without the "kitchen sink" strategy, for example, I would have been just fine with her in the VP slot. Now? Hell no. What kind of person would Obama be trusting someone who publicly said he just wasn't ready for the Presidency as his #2? He'd have to wear a metal plate on his back to keep the knives out of it. Who needs that...?

50. Look - please don't say I'm trying to twist the point.
Why? Because that is not what intend and 'cause I kinda respect that you were able to comeback with the info you did about primaries.

My only point wasn't to tell people they're evil for making the video.

It was merely to ask "Is this gonna help us? Would Obama advise it?"

If you parse that properly what's the implicit assumption?

That Obama is the presumptive nominee, and we ought to at least consider if it's helpful to put such stuff out. For example I have an idea for an ad versus McCaine based on a Cyprus Hill song: (sung to the tune of "insane in the membrane")

"Insane in the Mc-Caine, He crashes planes! His platform? Super Lame!, Insane in the Mc-Caine! Much like Bush - the same! He's on our side - He claims!"

If you've ever heard the song you can see it might take off. But would it help? Could easily be seen as age-ist if a line like "He needs a cane!" got added, thus needlessly enraging the AARP. One needs to be careful with these things because, unfortunately, it seems like victory turns on such incidentals, rather than real differences.

Also, in some respects, and Clinton people are just gonna loooove me for saying this, beating on Hillary is like beating on a dead horse at this point.

She's got a trick up her sleeve or she doesn't. We'll find out at the convention. Pounding on her more just generates sympathy. And it makes "Obama people" look like bullies. I think that's gonna hurt us if/when, because of the nomination, we're all "Obama people".

That's really what I'm getting at.

54. I Think I See Where You're Going With This...
...and you'd actually have a point--if this were a campagin ad.

But this video, and others like it, aren't campaign ads. They're comic satire. Not the same thing.

I'm not suggesting censorship.

But this is one more speck of paint on the pallet Rove is going to use to paint his twisted picture.

One more needless bit of ill-will.

I'm not asking that anyone spare Hillary's dignity for her sake, I ask it so we don't cultivate a general sense that dissent or difference is gonna get slapped down so hard it'll never get up again.

Why rub it in? Stuff like this always jumps the fence. And it creates a sick mood.

58. What is your damage?
What do you disagree with?

The part where I say "Obama could still win?" despite some of the a**holes that claim to support him?

What truth are you talking about?

Seems that people like you could almost care less that Obama is in a winning position, it seems what you actually relish is seeing others in a losing position.

Why don't you spend the $20+ dollars, get your jollies elsewhere on the internet, and refrain from imposing your little S&M sickness on Obama's campaign?

sent to my mom, former long time hardcore clinton supporter, had been dreaming of a hillary clinton presidential run for years, who has within the last three months lost all respect for her and changed over to obama. when she made the RFK remarks, she told me she was glad she opened her eyes and made a donation to barack.

61. Very good acting in this video. I actually laughed at several scenes.
I especially liked the "Juliet" skit. (Lose your sense of humor and you might as well be dead.)

But, seriously, they went to all this trouble and then misspelled her name? :wtf:

89. Here's why was it removed and reposted:
The reason is that it was featured on TV with a commentator pointing out that "Hillary" was misspelled as "Hilary". Apparently it was then removed and repaired.

No matter where it gets moved, it should always show up with that search.
