New Group Pressures D.N.C. in Ads

A group headed by donors to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton hastily formed a new political action committee this week and began running a television advertisement in the Washington, D.C. area on Friday imploring the Democratic National Committee to seat the entire delegations from both Florida and Michigan.
The group, Count The Votes Cast, filed a statement of organization with the Federal Elections Commission on Thursday and bought air time on a local network and CNN for their 30-second spot.

..."“We are Democrats. We care about what happens in November. We urge the Democratic National Committee to seat all of the delegates from Florida and Michigan. There’s no question about the validity of votes, it’s whether they’ll count. After 2000, how can any Democrat support votes not being counted? Count all the votes. Not to do so will fracture the party and bring disaster in November.”

Note the veiled threat...we will hurt the party come November.

That's nothing new. The really big donors have already been threatening Dean for ages. He has had to give money back to some very rich guys because they did not get their way.

DNC gives money back to top Clinton donor and friend who accused Dean of incompetence.

This is ridiculous. Kudos to a party that said we had to play by the rules. No kudos to the campaign that said rules did not matter. I look at the people in the ad, and my anger again rises at what manipulative tactics they have pulled.

1. I can kindof understand seating florida
At least Obama was on the ballot there. But nobody campaigned there really, so the voters never got a chance to meet the candidates up close. By that logic we should go back to October when Hillary was the frontrunner and give her the nomination right then.

Michigan is a joke, nobody else was even on the ticket. Anyone who thinks the delegates should be seated 'as is' when you only get 1 choice in an election doesn't know what a democracy or election is. Normally you get more than 1 choice when you vote.

3. Wow... that was horrible.
What a terrible ad. I guess they didn't have much of a budget.
