1. As usual, Chuck Todd is a "must-listen".
The guy is simply the best person to listen to regarding politics. Hands down.

Thanks for posting.

2. "A million spent in Texas would be like 2 million spent in Indiana
where Obama could get more bang (electoral college wise) for his buck." (Paraphrasing Chuck Todd)

I would never disagree with Chuck... but I don't think he appreciates yet just how much money Obama is going to have.

I'm thinking that Obama is going to raise and spend well over $300 Million for the general... perhaps over $500 million.

I know I'm going to do my part.

9. Texas belongs to McCAin. See the post about the new secretary of state who came
straight from ES&S. Texas will be stolen. period.

12. We really are counting on you, Jaksavage, to help us get rid of Sen. Gordon Smith.
Are you on board with that? We all need to support Jeff Merkeley as well as the Pres. & VP candidates.

What about the other downticket items?

Thanks so much.

4. Great point about the 50 state strategy
but I always understood Bush going to Cali just him.they pretending they had a shot to create the impression that he was popular everywhere --feed the groupthink

6. A couple of quibbles - MO leans McCain but PA, MI, WI which have voted DEM
for the past four cycles do not??? Chuck what are ya smokin'?

Missouri has voted Dem twice in the last four cycles. Obama leads in the two most recent polls but Chuck puts this in a "lean McCain" category while keeping obvious and reliable Dem states like WI, MI, PA in the tossup category instead of "lean Obama".

Chuck's great and I always pay attention to him many things but he is quite wrong here.

8. Honestly though, I'd rather he be pesimistic
I'd rather Todd assume the worst case and put more stuff in Red than will really be there in Nov. That way we have a safety factor built in. Damn, we need this one! I'd rather be given a pesimistic assessment and be happly surprised than have another night like election night 2000.

7. It is a pleasure to hear somebody speak intelligently
in a balanced, informed way. In 2 minutes he laid out some great insights, without taking sides. You could go for months on CNN and the 4 over-the-air networks and not hear that much substantial commentary.

I wasn't sure about this guy when I first saw him fairly recently, but I am really sold on him now.
