Beautiful downtown Beirut

Described by a visiting New Yorker as a replica of Manhattan on any given Saturday night. He says he realized there was "no way out" (much as with citizens in New Orleans).

No public call to halt the bombing of innocent civilians, we see an example of a deliberate delayed reaction to mass killing and death as a political judgment.

Imagine a memorable response in which the present inhabitant of the White House stands amid the rubble with a megaphone exclaiming, "We hear you, and the world is going to hear you . . "
