1. Everytime I see a neo repug endorse Obama
Edited on Sat Jul-19-08 11:07 AM by Arctic Dave
I think it is more to piss off and dienfranchise people on the left from voting. The rumors start to fly that Obama is a closet repug or some other nuttery.

2. that is silly
until a person breathes their last breath, there is always a chance that their conscience will get the better of them.

3. Really?
The point is that Bush is that bad, and McCain promises to be little better.

The argument is from the point of view of a fairly sober conservative: anything Obama does wrong (like raise taxes) can be fixed later; what Bush has done is to embroil the US in an unnecessary war and "overreach" executive authority, which is damage that is not easily undone. Even rolling back that executive authority, which is the very least any one should expect of an Obama administration, would be a big step in the right direction.

5. My position come from the howls from our side
when OB said he would Keep the funding for religious outreach programs and his stance on defense. I believe the right sees how factitious we are and is trying to capitalize on it.
If your opponent is firing up his base and new people to vote, your best move is to try to disenfranchise them to NOT vote by telling them their candidate is not what they seem to be. This is a ploy that is always used by campaign planners on both sides.
If this guy would had come out a year ago I would have given him more credit but this is an election year and Mc* is in deep, deep dodo. I would expect more people like this guy to "endorse" BO as to paint him as being a closet conservative. IMO.

4. I heard Armstrong Williams on NPR
a couple days ago and it really made me sick. Why is this guy still on the air let alone being interviewed on NPR. He was talking about how he would probably vote for Obama because he would not want to tell his grandchildren that he had not voted for the first black man to be elected President of the US. But that is SO weak coming from a guy that has been paid by the repubs to spew their BS for years. He is the definition of a paid shill. Do you think he will tell his grandchildren about that?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armstrong_Williams

In January 2005, USA Today reported that documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act revealed that Williams had been paid $240,000 to promote the controversial No Child Left Behind Act. Williams was hired "to promote the law on his nationally syndicated television show and to urge other black journalists to do the same".

As part of the agreement, Williams was required "to regularly comment on NCLB during the course of his broadcasts," and to interview Education Secretary Rod Paige for TV and radio spots that aired during the show in 2004". The contract with Williams was part of a $1 million contract between the U.S. Department of Education and the public relations company, Ketchum Inc.
