Governor Tim Kaine has been at the center of the news this week after Tuesday's front page story in the Washington Post about his "very serious" conversations with Sen. Barack Obama about joining the Democratic presidential ticket. I had a wide ranging conversation with the Governor on Tuesday about the recent reports, his relationship with Senator Obama, the prospects for Democrats in his home state this November as well as his views on faith, trade and foreign policy. Here are excerpts

Kaine is for building polluting coal fired power plants. Here in Wise County, Virginia, our mountains are being destroyed by blowing the tops off to get the coal then leave a barren moon scape and ruining the human quality of our beauty in South west Virginia by polluting the air, water shed, streams, and environment. Our hospitals and nursing homes are infecting our communities with deadly diseases which cause tremendous suffering, pain and death. I wish Governor Kaine would up hold the laws concerning misleading advertising but it seems the people have no power over the political machines and the mega profit machines. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/timmullins
