it took me long enough to believe Ava was for real...the only things on my mind at that age were sports, driving and girls...i didn't become politically aware until 18, and politically active until my mid-20s....

They're starting way earlier than us ol' hippies.

It was NOT one of DU's finest moments, with a lot of people making remarks that I thought would be pretty hurtful to a kid. Thank God the entire thread was deleted.

Sad that so many people didn't consider his age when they reacted to some of his posts and made some of the hurtful comments that they did.

2) Website boasts of volunteer work for a State Senator named Joe Leibham.

This guy is a run-of-the-mill Republican TOOL. He's tried to he's tried to http://www.onewisconsinnow.org/page/community/post/theduke/CHjv">disenfranchise voters and has http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=26308">voted AGAINST emergency contraception for sexual assault victims (repeatedly), a minimum wage increase and has a ZERO rating with NARAL.

I'm also told that he's a total nutcase and has got a rocket fetish and wants to have a NASA spaceport in Sheboygan. (which, I suppose would be appeal to a 12 year-old and may explain the support??).

3) There's a "Go Jean Go" bumper sticker front and center. Knowing a bit about my state's political issues, I am pretty sure that's in reference to Jean Hundertmark. She is a former Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. And she ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor as the running mate of Mark Green. Mark Green is the slimiest of slimeballs.
