...by your definition. But I'd sure like to sit Madame Squeaker down and force her to watch it. Then ask that she explain her oppostion to impeaching the torture regime to that man's family.
And it's my best guess that the impeachment movement has gathered steam more on the basis of its obvious necessity -- rather than either legal briefs or beach walking exclusively. And I would imagine -- since I engage in neither myself -- that both bring with it the personal satisfaction of doing what one is able to bring about justice.
What I can't imagine is by what mechanism one would would think that bushcheney could be "tagged" -- or even stopped from chuckling -- other than impeachment itself. Since, as you say, we can clearly include "blue legal briefs" -- and court rulings, and passed legislation, and decades-old treaty obligations -- among those things they "dismissed...out of hand."
Which leaves us with only Pelosi -- who's hardly "just standing there." It was she who wasted years claiming to be "ratcheting up the pressure." And she who now
falsely and bizarrely maintains that impeachment requires "cooperation from the Administration" (?!?) And FWIW, it is also she who "put a tag" on herself, when she accepted her powerful place in the US Gov't.
But it's still not "easy" to come to the conclusion that Pelosi is the last bushcheney firewall against accountability. No one enjoys wondering if someone in their own party sat in a classified briefing and willingly joined the torture team. Or that she's craven enough to
abide it all for a bit of electoral/political advantage (which is arguably worse).
That's just the reality of it. And being angrier at bushcheney than at Pelosi doesn't change it.
Impeachment remains our ONLY moral, patriotic option. Pelosi remains the largest obstacle --
along with Obama -- in the path of achieving it.
I think posting this video was helpful. Sorry you don't feel better about it.
