I live abroad and almost never get to see Maher on TV, which is a shame because I really like him. Thank you for posting this. :)

...soft on terrorism, soft on {enemy of the moment goes here}....It is clear to me now that the United States is no longer capable of correcting itself by having its citizens make intelligent, informed decisions. Although the citizens tried to elect a Congress in 2004 that would stand up to the greed, fear, lies, and general ineptness of the Bush administration and its enablers, I have concluded that things are too far gone for anything resembling democracy to return. Most Americans are children who want someone else to take care of them, eagerly swarming toward anyone who tells them what they want to hear. Facts are irrelevant. America is going down the drain. I left the country before the shit hits the fan. It won't be long. The fact that John McCain has so many supporters in spite of Bush's record is a clear and indisputable sign that the US populace is terminally, hopelessly stupid.

And to think that at one time he supported Dole for president. There may be no God, but Maher proves there's such thing as redemption.
