I love those assholes try to push a 1950s small town persona that obviously they know nothing about(on top of being overrated). "Mayberry Machiavellis" obviously haven't learned a thing form either Mayberry or Machiavelli.

3. That is awesome. I recently wathched Andy Griffith in a great older movie, too.
It's called "A Face in the Crowd" and I've been urging everyone to see it.

And if you do get the DVD be sure to watch the special features. It is very informative and gives a good bit of analysis of the movie, it's not just fluff and....

Honest to g-d, Griffith drops the F-bomb. I was so shocked I about fell off the sofa. There are just some things you never expect to hear from some people.

4. Did you see him in "Waitress" . . .
He was awesome. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050371/">Face in the Crowd was an incredibly prescient movie about corporate media influence on the political process.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473308/">Waitress link.

7. I think I'll put that in my Netflix Queue. Thanks.
I love Netflix. I've seen many movies in the past several months that just aren't available at the rental place.

8. Haven't seen the DVD, but it's a precursor to "Network"
about 20 years ahead of it.

Griffith does some EXCELLENT acting in it - before his days on TV. And his character in the movie is about as far from the one he played as sheriff - downright despicable, as a matter of fact.

I agree with you - it's a MUST-SEE!

10. I found 'Barney and the Preamble to the Constitution" - just for fun
Recites it. Just like that. While Andy coaches him. Tries out a new 'do, too.

6. That was beautiful I had tears in my eyes. If only the Republicans valued our Nation as much as
Andy Griffith Valued Our Nation

9. K&R I still love that show!
You know, I've learned some important life lessons from that show...

"Sheriff Andy teaching Opie about the 4th amendment and the due process of law after
Opie eavesdrops on a private conversation."

Now, I realize just what we've lost. It's sad!

"We've seen America at its best and our government at its worst. Millions of Americans are beginning to realize where they fit in our democracy under Republican governance: nowhere."

—John Kerry (speaking of the Katrina disaster)

11. Only a Commie Pinko would uphold the Constitution!!!
So, it has been FINALLY exposed. Opie was an early Neocon who helped groom Karl Rove while he was being house broken (that part never worked). And Andy, oh, Andy <head shaking slowly>, if only we had known you were the head of Mayberry Wussy Liberals for Constitutional Rights, maybe we wouldn't have eaten all of those Ritz crackers. I'm shocked, just shocked - and I'm throwing out the half-empty Ritz box in protest.
