That when the rest of Cable News was reporting on Princess Diana's death and Monica Lewinsky 24-7, Keith had enough, and chose to stay in his bathtub rather than do another night of Lewinsky.

But it sounds like something Keith said first and then they just tagged him with it.

They're always trying to show Keith in the worst possible light.

But anyone who says he "refused to do a leadin to Abrams' show" is a liar. He did one for a long time. I don't know why it stopped, but I'm sure it had nothing to do with him. He used to hand off to other people, including Joe Scarborough and Rita Cosby, who had shows immediately after his. (They're talking about the transition from his live show to the 9 PM show, whatever it may be.)

I was so proud of Keithy.

I don't think he "got Abrams fired." Abrams's show sucked; my husband and I always rushed to hit the mute button when Keithy ended, so we wouldn't have to listen to Abrams. Rachel will rock that time slot. Abrams is still around, anyway-- he'll be doing commentary, and hosting some of the daytime hours.

"Bathtub boy"? Does that have to do with the anthrax hoax to which Keith was subjected last year? Some of the right-wing whack-jobs were thrilled with that. They think it's hilarious when a lefty gets death threats.

I think the green-eyed monster is raising its nasty head here. gibson's jealous! His ratings were almost nonexistent. They rendered his show unsustainable. As I recall, noting mediabistro every so often, gibson's show had the lowest ratings on Pox as far as primetimers go. So methinks he's simply jealous as hell. 'Cause he's banished from on-camera and Keith is riding high, ratings consistently the strongest on MSNBC and steadily on the increase, bringing on ANOTHER one with Rachel Maddow's ascendance - she's his first spin-off - and coanchoring all the big stuff! Keith Olbermann is pulling that whole network up out of obscurity singlehandedly, giving it a strong identity and niche in a market that had none, and has recognized, targeted, and is winning a large, and heretofore un-recognized and un-served, downright ignored chunk of audience (one that, itself, is growing substantially), gibson. What have YOU done lately?

I don't understand how anybody can listen to talk radio. It's like a one-liner streeeetched out to 3 hours. Even Randi does this sometimes.
