2. We have Susan, they have lunatic Zell Miller...
...and shameless Joe LIEberman. Her decision to change party is reasoned and heartfelt.

3. Eisehhower is the only Republican president of my lifetime whom I respect.
1. He warned against unleashing the military industrial complex to where it runs our country.

2. The interstate highway system was launched under his presidency.

Republicans try like hell to hold up Ronald Reagan as this icon of conservative idealogy. They have the media stooges working feverishly to perpetuate this myth. It was Reagan who unleashed the military industrial complex, spending obscene sums of money and never holding the Pentagon accountable for their spending. It has continued to this day to where the Pentagon has a blank check on-budget and the war in Iraq has the same treatment off-budget.

4. Yes, it's what makes the endorsement so poignant.

5. Eisenhower Also Resided Over 3 Recessions
While Ike was personable it was his economic stewardship that allowed John F. Kennedy to follow him into the Oval Office. That and his tepid response to Joseph McCarthy. Appointing Earl Warren to the Supreme Court may have been his best decision.

6. knowing now what we know- about hyena newsmedia lying about everything
even Nixon felt helpless when faced with the 'let's pretend we think this way' newsmedia that could ignore 90 percent of the people to claim the entire nation supported some damn thing or other; and even among all the disinfo a surprisingly large percent did not believe in the 'official story' which was so plainly a lie and only successful because the corporate thief newsmedia pretended we all believed it. The newsmedia simply adopts a position, then uses that to define what's factual, or true, despite all the evidence to contrary! And they call getting way with it 'genius'! It's doubtful Eisenhower was truly responsible for the 'recessions' since it seems by 1950 the overwhelming collective effort of the people to crush fascism in WW2 was thought of as the greater danger to mr pig then anything in nature, and fukking up the economy has always been the pig's easiest trick (and in fact the economy could be doing very well thank you even as the cnnfoxnews lying goofs claimed disaster was unfolding; lookit Jimmy Carter's time. The US was literally rolling in dough by 1976- the 'Nam war was finally ended and the world looked to US for leadership etc, and there were trillions of dollars available for....??.. well that's why the drug war and talibans were suddenly necessary). Remember too that JFK was killed in part because he was planning to end the Fed Reserve system, a fraud from the getgo.....something Eisenhower possibly too afraid to even think about!
