2. McCain's judgement is the issue...
But we should attack it based on Palin's politial inexperience, not her personal life. The repukes could learn this lesson but they won't!

her personal life..it is based on the fact that McCain did not do proper vetting ..nobody would want all this kind of news on the week of there convention on purpose.

3. Agreed, but abstinence only education can't be off the table to ask her about
These fundies would love to eliminate sex education and replace it with abstinence only education. Does she agree is a fair question.

6. Agree and disagree. Children should be off limits...
..however, the mother is not - particularly when she's running for VP of the United States. If she lied and pretended to be pregnant when she wasn't, what does that say about her judgement and the lessons she's teaching? THAT should not be off limits.

The door is open for the democrats and as usually, they are playing nicey-nicey. Didn't work in '00, didn't work in '04. If the situation were reversed, Karl Rove would be all over it like a cheap suit on my father-in-law. I don't see anything wrong with pointing out the failed policies of the mom (my son will be taught more than abstinence, thank you very much) while not attacking the daughter.

11. Agreeing and disagreeing with you
Yes, Mrs. Palin's views on what should be government policy are fair game. Nobody will disagree with that.

If she lied and pretended to be pregnant when she wasn't, what does that say about her judgement and the lessons she's teaching? THAT should not be off limits.

By now we should drop this. It never should have been brought up. It was pure fantasy, based on few facts and a lot of conjecture. That's the sort of thing of which we need to stay clear.

If the situation were reversed, Karl Rove would be all over it like a cheap suit on my father-in-law.

True. On top of that, he'd probably be making up stuff along the way. He shouldn't do that. That is why Karl Rove is despicable.

I don't see anything wrong with pointing out the failed policies of the mom (my son will be taught more than abstinence, thank you very much) while not attacking the daughter.

Fair enough. Unless you plan to be in the back seat of the car after the junior prom, you're not going to be making a decision for your kid. Sooner or later, the kid will have to make that kind of decision on his own. Like voting for a candidate, it is best to make that decision based on all the information available, not just enough information to make some one behave as you would like. As Mrs. Palin found out, that doesn't work, any way. Abstinence only programs, as advocated by Governor Palin, are bad public policy. While abstinence is certainly the best way to avoid teenage pregnancy, it's going to be a little difficult for some people. Those people should know what the next line of defense is.

7. Yea for Barack!
I told a friend today he had to come out and put a damper on this.

This is unseemly and cruel to a 17 year old girl , we are better than that. She has made her decisions and choices and now has a lifetime to live with them .

Lets focus on substance and not gossip. There are few families that have not had something similar in them or have teen age daughters , no matter how well trained, may not use birth control and may not want an abortion.

This is not a party issue.

8. I wish
in his statement he would have reinforced that while he respects her choice in how her family deals with this crisis, there is a bigger issue, which is the right that EVERY family has to the choices they make on these issues. We can respect the Palins' choice, but we cannot respect her pledge to restrict the choice the rest of us have, and that is fair game for debate.

9. He's right. It's a slippery slope of back and forth and he's being sensible.
