So, I'm assuming if she'd inquired about the protocol for burning witches but not ACTUALLY torched any, that'd be A-OK with the GOP too. :eyes:

Think about it. If it were up to her and her church, their most profitable programming would be banned. This may even be true of Fox. Think about what's on Fox's entertainment network.

some of the people she was chosen to appeal to, the Far-right religious fundamentalists would hear this same story, and not think to themselves, "That's not right. I can't believe she even thought about it. That is scary. How dare her!". They would be proud of her furthering the cause, taking down those nasty liberals, restoring traditional family/Christian values, etc. A badge of honor, if you will.

I find one of the most overlooked fact of the story, is that she had the Librarian fired, after telling Palin she would not allow her to ban books. AND that she HAD to restore her to her former position after a "community uprise". And then probably made life difficult for her until she couldn't take it anymore, so she left. And I bet Palin made sure her successor was more "agreeable". Sounds like a typical Republican politician.

You know, its a lot different when you are the ruler of a town of 7,000, where most people know each other, and can make things personal when you don't bend to the will of the people you preside over. That is the ONLY reason the Librarian was re-instated. If it were the same situation, except on the national level, I guarantee she would not give a flying flip whether the public approved or not of her decisions. Very scary, indeed. If ever there was a comparison to Hitler in politics that actually made sense, this is pretty close.

She should be. This is just outrageous.

I can stomach a whole lot of awful Republican bullshit, but censorship and pulling books from libraries is one of those things that I can't even sarcasm away.

The choice of Palin would be like having a Jeebus-freak Alberto Gonzales in the VP office. Well, when she's not trying to earn per diem bonuses for going home rather than staying in the office...
