And there’s not a thing you could say to people who think like this, in order to change their mind.

social science shows, people like this are common, and there is even a name for them, their called "Authoritarian followers". And when Adolf Hitler said, “What luck for rulers that men do not think”, he wasn’t being sarcastic, he was just speaking the truth about the followers that fall under the spell of tyrants, thus giving rise to tyrannies…

And yes I watched the video! MoveOn did a great job of comically showing the tragedy of ignorance at its core, and people like the one depicted in the video are real. Although they may not be so conspicuous or funny, they are easy to see if you know what to look for…

With that I just want to add, thanks for posting the video, it really does say a lot, and I think it can be a useful tool for people interested in the subject of social science…

But satire doesn’t necessarily mean fiction and is often used to pokes fun at reality, and this type of individual is really quite common. So laugh in one hand because that is what satire is meant for, but consider with the other, are there really people like the one depicted in the video? See post #7

Remember the piece (Stewart?) about the rims on the bus? They introduced the bus driver as "just like family" and he was black. Other than that, the guy pretty much sums up the McCain platform and their disregard for facts.
