They playback the interview and discuss Spain's reaction.

McGaffe is back at it again!

His camp says the remarks were intentional and he stands by them!

2. McCain didn't have a clue who the Spanish Prime Minister was
Had no idea of the political ideology of the Spanish ruling party either; that's why he fudged his answer. McCain is as stupid and ignorant in foreign affairs as Palin is.

5. McCain thought the question was about Mexico
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 03:58 PM by Peggesis1
In spite of the interviewer's clarifications, McCain responded with an answer about Mexico. He was clearly responding as if the questions were all about Latin America. I wonder if any linguists out there would want to do an academic discourse analysis of this interview.

Oh, yeah. And he gave no indication that he had a clue who President Zapatero was.

20. Why do you believe McSame thought Palin was smart enough to be VP.
McSame doesn't have a clue about anything.,,, And the
republicans voters want McSame to have his finger on the
button,,, As Jerry Lee Louis use to say "Great balls of
Fire".

By the way who in their right state of mind would want someone
like McCain which for president,, When McCain has been
lying his a.. off about Obama to win this presidential
election.

Doesn't this sound like his hugging friend which stolen the
office of presidency two different times , And arrogantly
spread his deceit , lies and Bs to go to war with Iraq...

McCain is a stupid nut and for anyone to vote for him , they
have to have something missing up stairs..

With McSame temper , he would nuke his own country if someone
made him mad...

3. I don't understand
SO . I saw that interview as snub off to spain and favoritism to Mexico. MM does Mexico have oil? Maybe mexico has the drugs he needs to keep his stories straight. As Roman ittialian and a decedent of the Mediterranean I am out raged. Doesn't he need Floridia to win. MMM Wasn't florida discovered by spain?? Maybe he should be reminded. I think Obama willingness to meet upfront with leaders and not send cohorts like Bush has is extremely good. And further more has Cheney ever gone to meet leaders of the world. Where is dearth and how is lately. ya Like I care.

7. McCain didnt know who she was talking about
We figured in another thread that he must have thought she was referring to the Zapatistas which is a rebel group in Chiapas, Mexico. He didnt even hear her repeating Spain's President. His mind is too old. can only think not listen at the same time. That's what happens with old conservatives. they are so set in their inner dialogue of shame they cant actually listen to what others are trying to tell them, even when someone is trying to give them helpful hints.

4. "Willing to lead."
I like that phrase. Blogs and media outlets should run with it. McCain is obviously not "willing to lead" if doesn't want to meet with world leaders, or I guess, learn about them. . .

6. BEYOND PATHETIC
His spokesperson dances around McCain's major, huge flub and still has the audacity to throw in an Obama slur at the end? This is the Republican's best? Beyond Pathetic.
What a bunch of dumb losers.

That was shockingly bad, even coming from the McCain campaign.

9. It's all they got
Yes, that's how they expect to get this hollow man elected. It looks to me that he needs medical care and rest--which he can't really get on the campaign trail. As much as I dislike McCain, this is pitiful.

27. I think McCain is sick
He always has someone by his side and he frequently mixes things up. His medical records need to be examined more thoroughly.

25. You know, I'm willing to give him a pass...
...if he doesn't know the profound intricacies of relations between the Sunni and Shia, and who Iran is or isn't supporting in the war on terror. But confusing Spain with a Latin American country???? Let's not forget folks, he's 72. The old thinking machine probably doesn't work as good as it once did.

26. Ok, it's time for the curtains to close
McCain has lost it.

Man, I know how this is going to play out. Bush and his acolytes are going to incite some sort of conflict and McCain will try and recoup his image. This is in addition to trying to steal the election.
