They really don't get it do they? So, according to Faux, you can rape someone but it's okay as long as you apologize? Are you kidding me?

1. Oh, some DU'ers were upset as well
They felt that because he apologized, he shouldn't have to go to jail and that the woman was being "vindictive" when she turned his letters over to police.

I'll see if I can find the original thread. Trust me when I say that freepers do NOT have the monopoly on being women haters and rape apologists....

2. It's only just they send him to jail
He got a discount with only 18 months behind bars...

Would you allow a Nazi involved in the Holocaust to go unnoticed 50 years later?

4. misleading
As much as I dislike Gibson this thread is misleading. He did not seem angry about the sentence. He only questioned his guest about how she felt about it. Let's not stoop to their level.

5. There is nothing misleading about the title
I didn't say "angry" I said "upset" although I suppose I could have used "bothered" just as well. Regarless, he makes the point that the guy should have not even apologized at all. Besides, 18 years is far too small a punishment.

What are you, a republican in democrat clothing?
Should change your name to o'reillyforpresident

3. You are so right, thank you. The attitude seems to be
that females of any age should be available and not complain about anything a male chooses to do to them. Violence toward women is so prevalent in the US. Not so different in the ME, when one sees how men there subdue their wives and daughters.

7. I believe this is the thread you were looking for...

And reading that thread it does not appear that "some DU'ers" were upset with the victim, but rather just ONE DUer was upset. And the one who was upset got torn apart very quickly by the rest of us. We do not defend rapists here, and if anyone tries they are sure to meet a tidal wave of opposition from the 99.9% of DUers who believe rape is unacceptable.

6. "Because of YOUR outlook on these kinds of things.."
rape is not a THING...it's a CRIME and every civilized human being on the face of the planet views it as such.

9. I'm was dumbstruck to hear some US states have an expiry period on rape prosecutions.
I had to review the video to make sure.

It's one thing to say the case might not get a conviction because, for instance, good evidence was more difficult to aquire but to base it on an arbitrary time period is astonishing.
