During an interview with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin was unable to cite a single U.S. Supreme Court case.

Palin stated that she does believe in the cornerstone of Roe vs. Wade (Right to Privacy) but believes the ruling should be overturned.

PLEASE DIGG IT! http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Sarah_Palin_Unable_to_Name_One_U_S_Supreme_Court_Case?OTC-em-st1

1. Good for Katie!
Katie: Do you think there's an inherent right to privacy in the constitution?

Idiotface: I do. Yes, I do.

Katie: That's the cornerstone of Rove vs. Wade

Idiotface: Bullshit, bullshit, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

4. Just astonishing, isn't it?
Katie spoonfeeds her clues and Palin still falls down on her answers.

Sarah Palin is dangerously uninformed and obviously lacks basic critical thinking skills.

11. I know! That was hysterical.
Especially for someone so stridently anti-abortion rights, you'd think Palin would at least have some talking points about why Roe v. Wade is wrong. Instead she justifies the ruling. And doesn't even realize it.

D'oh!

14. Katie should have fed her Ledbetter v Firestone.
You know, the decision that says we don’t have to pay her as much as Joe Biden if she become VP.

23. That would have been PERFECT!
And, she could have asked Sarah if she agrees with McCain that women don't deserve equal pay for equal work.

I hope this one comes up at the debate.

if she became president god forbid something should happen to mccain, she would be appointing at least a couple of sc justices. so she could have a big influence on roe v wade!!

18. Sarah probably doesn't realize
that it is the President who appoints SCOTUS Justices. She seems to lack a fundamental undertanding of our government and U.S. history.

7. Wouldn't you love to be in a room
with her advisers as they watch these interviews? I can hear the cursing as they furiously take notes about what else they need to coach her on!

24. It is insulting
Insulting to the American public that John McCain placed her on the ticket. As has been said, he certainly did not put country first in his choice of Palin for VP.

20. I don't understand either, but maybe they wanted to 'give' the...
'extremist nutjobs' who, voted for dumbya twice, an incentive for not stayin' home on Nov. 4.

Well, it seems THAT worked, except... he (they) lost A LOT of Independent voters (so far) by picking that ignoramus.

15. She's whack
The federal government shouldn't be mandating yes-or-no on such an important issue as abortion, but if she becomes vice-president she wouldn't be in a position to change those things and should follow the law of the land.

So the law should be changed and also followed?

She's whack.

17. Brain to Nowhere
My God...she can't even answer questions when Katie is being nice. Katie could have said: "Can you name me a specific Supreme Court decision that you are against?" Instead, because she knew that Palin couldn't, asked: "Is there any case you can think of...?" What is this woman going to say to such pointed questions tomorrow night? Katie's interview was a one-to-one...the most private type of interview you want. But tomorrow will be public, watched by over 40 million people! Are you going to give answers like that in front of the world? Oh God...I'm buying extra popcorn for this one.

22. Ah Yes, the old "states should decide" Crap
For the record, I find abortion distasteful - but unlike Palin and the moral mother f----rs, I am pro-life because I believe such decisions lie in the hands of the people involved, not some pseudo-religious busybody in a state capital or Washington.

And what Palin obviously didn't think about - or doesn't care, I'm not sure which - is that when Roe v Wade was made law in 1973, 46 states had severe restrictions on abortion. 31 of the 50 had it illegal regardless of circumstances. (Interestingly, Alaska was one of the four states where abortion was legal.) Obviously, knowing her religious views, that she'd probably prefer to go back to the way it was in 1973.
