"So heres John McCains radical plan in a nutshell: he taxes health care benefits for the first time in history; millions lose the health care they have; millions pay more for the health care they get; drug and insurance companies continue to profit; and middle class families watch the system they rely on begin to unravel before their eyes," Obama told the crowd in Virginia.

3. Thanks for posting this. Obama has explained the flaws
in McCain's health care plan quite well.

5. Yes, he has
While Obama is talking about health care and other issues that affect American families today, the McCain camp is smearing Obama calling him a "best friend to terrorists." An outrageous claim, tying him to Ayers, that they've made before and have recycled in attempt to divert from the issues.

Here's what the Obama camp said in response to the McCain swiftboat smear that Sarah Palin delivered today:

Governor Palin’s comments, while offensive, are not surprising, given the McCain campaign’s statement this morning that they would be launching Swiftboat-like attacks in hopes of deflecting attention from the nation’s economic ills. In fact, the very newspaper story Governor Palin cited in hurling her shameless attack made clear that Senator Obama is not close to Bill Ayers, much less ‘pals,’ and that he has strongly condemned the despicable acts Ayers committed 40 years ago, when Obama was eight. What’s clear is that John McCain and Sarah Palin would rather spend their time tearing down Barack Obama than laying out a plan to build up our economy.

9. mclame's campaign is about any and everything but the issues
because he can't run on the issues... he can only run on character assassination. It's good that Obama has got a rapid response team dedicated to killing these where they stand and breathe. All right wing swiftboating needs to be exterminated like the vermin it is.

They are trying to fertilize the story about Obama not being born in the US, but in Kenya... I heard this guy on Air America Radio's show "Clout" asking for anyone to call him and give him some information on this because he thinks there is some truth to it. When even Dems don't know what the truth is, a lot of damage can be done.

It's a shame that he doesn't know that this has been dispelled and debunked for months on both fightthesmears.com and factcheck.org; in fact, fightthesmears.com has posted a copy of Obama's birth certificate issued from the state of Hawaii... and that even if he were born in Kenya, his dual citizenship expired when he turned 21 because he didn't declare himself a citizen of Kenya and he never renounced his American citizenship. That story has no legs, but even some Dems aren't aware that if you need clarification on any smear, that Obama has set up a website to refute smears--and they encourage you to send in information so that they can address it with a rapid response.

But there are way too many mediocre Joe six packs and dowdy hockey moms out there who refuse to believe anything but what mclame and his a pit bull tell them.

8. I agree
He really pointed out some things that should frighten people. In this economy, having to foot the bill for your own health care insurance will have a direct and noticeable impact. I hope he points this out in the debate and on commercials and all over the place.

6. From the other end of The Commonwealth...
We deserve affordable health care, but also deserve acceptable health care, at least something more acceptable than Virginia and Tennessee support. I do know as a fact that in East Tennessee, horrifyingly horrible health care is the same as 'acceptable' health care. www.wisecountyissues.com

10. people who trust the republican-gop's
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 06:32 PM by SemperEadem
are people who love big shit talking bullies who they can jump up and down and scream "yeah.. yeah..." behind during the campaign and feel all tough with their chests puffed out.

What those same people don't get is that they are the very ones who get dropped off at the mall with no change to call for a ride home when the republican-gop begin governing because they let themselves get turned out to trick for their vote. Time and time again it happens and time and time again, they sit in wonderment afterwards as to how they got into the position they're in because they believed the campaign promises of a pimp.
