I have always understood that positions of power in government and corporations has a tendency to attract socio-psychopaths you can at least debate the point from individual to individual as to if it applies here. With Palin, there is glaring evidence right in front of you that there is no debate in this instance.

Why do the fanatics never consider that? Maybe He's providing an object lesson for the consequences of some terrible sin. With Bush it was pride, and laziness, especially intellectual laziness. With Palin, maybe vanity. And with both, dishonesty. And with the Republican party, stretching loyalty from a desirable virtue into a sin. Putting loyalty above truth, loyalty above rationality, loyalty above common sense, and putting loyalty to a person or a political party above loyalty to the nation, these are all sins. Aristotle taught us that virtue lies in the middle, the golden mean. Either extreme turns it into an evil.

to be an inspiration and source of advice on how we should build communities.

When other countries around the world starting talking about the U.S. moving toward 3rd world nation status last year I took it as sort of an euphemism but it seems I may have been a bit too positive about our situation.

What if the Republican Christians are The Anti-Christ? What if their Deep Seated Hatefulness and Intolerance Represents their Satan, More Than Their
Jesus? I have studied the Christian Texts for Years, including those that are considered Heretical, one thing is true, trying to find a singularity in their philosophy is impossible. There is much contradiction when looking at Christianity as a whole, and not singularity. If their philosophy was the end all be all, would not their be one clear message, rather than a serpentine twisting of a hodge podge of bible verses used to rationalize their beliefs?

I have become so "anti-religion" since bush and company...or maybe even back to "self righteous gingrich days"; it's scary.

These nut cakes are just shy of needing to be committed and taken off public streets, and NOW we have them running the country and threatening to annihilate us all.

Jesus ....what have you done to us? You came preaching love and compassion, and out of your "religion" we have these idiots who want to kill anything that isn't like themselves, or they interpret the Bible to be a book of hate and rules.

We have so twisted reality with this element taking power in our society. Maybe we deserve no better.

If they can't make something of palin politically now or later they WILL bring someone else out and try to get them in instead and don't forget the stuff they try to pull on the other levels of government! I don't want another 4 more years of a radical fundamentalist sitting in the whitehouse with their finger on the button itching to bring on armageddon. mccain may be at the top of the ticket but he has had malignant cancer 4 times and heaven knows what else. All the blinking and tics during the debates and interviews don't rest my mind any either.
