John McCain continues to incite hate speech and anger at his rallies. Today in Wisconsin, McCain smiled approvingly as a supporter screamed, "TRAITOR" while McCain attacked Barack Obama.

The hate speech and angry outburts at McCain and Palin rallies continues to escalate. It's also spilling to down ticket events, as TPM reports:

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/10/bomb_obama.php

"The fury and loathing of Obama being whipped up largely by McCain-Palin-GOP rhetoric about the Illinois Senator is now spilling into down-ticket races, specifically the battle between GOP incumbent Saxby Chambliss and his Dem challenger."

2. The audience/mob isn't even listening to him!! Weird
I would think it hard to give a speech when people are yelling and chanting??? Obama's audiences don't act like this. But then, they're not repugs...

4. I didn't see it that way. It looked to me like he initially grimaced like he didn't
want to hear that (because of the bad press his rallies have been receiving, not for reasons of integrity), and started smiling when the crowd began chanting USA.

It's really impossible for any of us to know and accurately read a person's response. I've had a friend tell me "if you could have seen the look of pure hatred on your face, gateley" and I'm "huh????" There was NOTHING of the sort, but we all interpret others' expressions through our own filters and expectations.

Regardless of McCain's real response, the crowd is still ugly.

10. That's possible
I didn't see it that way but I wasn't there.

What we DO know for certain is that John McCain did NOT condemn that remark.

He has yet to tell his mob to knock it off and ask them to cease and desist with the hate speech. In fact, he continues to incite it.

If the mob breaks out into violence, he can be charged with a crime for that. It is illegal to incite violence. McCain and Sarah Palin are both walking a dangerous, fine line here.

11. And even if we had been there we might have different takes on it, but you bring
up the most important FACT -- McCain did not condemn that remark.

What is that term? It implies you're just as guilty by doing nothing, as if you would be if you'd participated. Can't think of it, but we know what I'm trying to say and we're in agreement.

16. He totally did
He seems to approve of this behavior. He didn't condemn the remark. He looked pleased with the shouted remark. He smiled and gave the thumbs up.

Hey John, that doesn't look like appropriate behavior from someone aspiring to become president. That reaction makes it hard to believe that you want to reach across the aisle and work with both parties. It makes it really hard to believe that you can connect with people with any points of view different from your own. You suck, and I hope you lose the election you old fool.

8. His ego too big to see these are not McCain supporters just Obama haters.
They couldn't even tell youany of McCain's policies or votes...none. Just ask any of them to name a McCain/Palin position. They don't know any which proves they are just hate filled dem/liberal haters.

13. This is the height of hypocrisy.
After following a true traitor for 8 years - one who has literally sold the U.S. out to the highest bidder and all but destroyed everything that was once great about this nation - they yell "traitor," "kill him," and "terrorist" referring to a man who has done no harm, and whose mistakes have caused not one death.

Then John McSame gives a sly thumbs up as if nobody would notice it.

14. He has no integrity
No honor.

How anyone can see him as anything but an irrational hate monger is beyond my comprehension.

15. Fantastic column in the Baltimore Sun today by Frank Shaeffer...
McCain's attacks fuel dangerous hatred
By Frank Schaeffer
October 10, 2008
John McCain: If your campaign does not stop equating Sen. Barack Obama with terrorism, questioning his patriotism and portraying Mr. Obama as "not one of us," I accuse you of deliberately feeding the most unhinged elements of our society the red meat of hate, and therefore of potentially instigating violence.
